I have to agree with on this one Bevan. I've honestly begun to question if this is ever going to happen at all.

gotta say I think Bevans comments pack a page are very important.

To do such a trip takes alot of working out, not just financially either.

Unfortunately its probably too late by now for Team Australia.

I did my best to kick up a fuss as a last resort when it looked like many of our prospective members were wavering, but the lack of response has pretty much sealed the deal - 4 out of the 6 or 7 have definitely dropped out, and I'm not overly sure about the others either. With Doubleskulls having had to drop out due to the date change prior to this, I really can't see anyone managing to get any more than 4 coaches together from Team OZ.

In order for us to get a team together, we'd have needed to get at least 6 coaches paid up for airfares and such and comitted to go. Once you get that number, others will be able to see the team is viable and will be more likely to attend.

I was nominated as Captain for our team, and went around and recruited people and got everyone pumped up and prepared to go - with the initial March start date, we wanted to start organising flights etc by March this year, so I had a number of people ready to commit then.

Then there was the message changing it to October, and since then....silence - people have now committed those funds elsewhere, and it looks like a tourney in Thailand might be in the offing sometime next year.

If neither Australia nor the a team USA will show up then we have a Eurobowl tournament for 3 days.
So both attendance should be necessary.....

6 Month?

I thought you wanted to put the date on September/October 2007?

Or were these just rumors?

Team US doesn't look good, hopefully details will spark some talk on it though.

Also heard with the date change Team Canada may be rough.

If it's any help I could play for you guys. You were taking New Zealanders weren't you?

I thought Doubleskulls had to drop out because he was going to have to be flying around the world at another time in the year and couldn't do it twice?

To make this event a World Cup we must get teams from Canada, US and Australia, and preferably others from outside Europe. I had always assumed that US would have enough interested coaches to send separate teams from East Coast and West Coast, or are they still North vs South there.

Australia will probably need to accept anyone who has ever been south of the Equator.

However, it would be better if we can have a genuine Australian team and a separate Rest of the World, for NZ, Malaysia and other areas outside America and Europe, but the chance of getting enough interested coaches is not looking good.

Is there a specific reason why October is bad for US/Canada or is it just because the date is still not fixed? The offical web site says 152 days to go.

Currently the Death Bowl and the Chaos Cup are in October ... 2nd and 3rd largest tournaments in North America.
