Yorkshire League

Post by Ironjaw »

Are there any leagues in the yorkshire area? Preferably Leeds or York?

I think it would benefit my tournement play if I had a weekly challenge and development play.

I've noticed that most UK tournaments and leagues are southerly...hmm

Somewhere on here there is a link for some guys who wanted to set up a Leeds league (have a look on the search function). For good quality one off games, you could pm Odium Khan who lives in Leeds.

Cheers

Well I'm based in Beverley (between York and Hull, closer to the Hull side) so if anything started up I'd be interested in joining in.....

I was in contact with a couple of blokes last year who were going to start up a Leeds-based league. I never heard from them again unfortunately.

I work stupid hours seven days a week in general so the furthest distance I'd be willing to travel for league play is probably within the 1st ring road...
By all means please PM me if any of you find something of interest, you never know I might just turn up even if it is a bit further to travel! York or Manchester is definitely beyond my limit though (for leagues that is).

Organizing some sort of Yorkshire one-dayer could be interesting. Maybe check with any of the GW stores if they could house it. Or I could house it in my flat when my flatmates are out on field campaigns... :)

Aha! NWAWE = Too Late 4 Lenny. It all makes sense now.

Oh, and your stepsister is also more than welcome if we hold a one-dayer at my place. ;) I can send you photos if you (she) likes. (I look like Grumbledook, but probably an inch or so taller).

Sorry, could not resist. All in jest. :D

Hi There

I have a league running at the moment at the Leeds night owls club at Headingley community centre. Every thursday from 7pm. A small league of about 6-8 regular players. Very informal but great fun!!!

Hey Jonny. Are they still doing Wing Chun kung fu at the community centre? Depending on where it is I might be up for it too when you start anew. I will do a multimap search next coffee break.

Everyone welcome with what ever rules are being used now or you have. :)

The league is underway but anyone can join as a new player or with a new team...

Very informal and good fun... :smoking:

Come along for the fun as we could do with a few more teams.
