dirty player bonus ?

Post by neverdodge »

hello, good to be here again ;)

just a stupid question, do the dirty player get +2 on armour roll in addition to the +1 because he s fouling (so that would be a total of +3) or does he only get +2 ??

:o realy..... we always played that he just gets the extra +1 bonus making it +2 as he is twice as good at what he does.

If we are wrong, that is nasty.

For a DP you make the foul as normal - and after rolling the Av can decide whether or not to add the extra +2. If you don't then you can use it on injury instead.

Thanks for IGMEOY

Yup
IGMEOY has changed our league a lot. :)

nobody has bothered with dirty player at all, i think partly also due to no star player points for the foul either.

Why was the 'casulaty for a foul' rule ever changed.

To me it doesn't make sense, the way I look at it, if the player injured the player he should get a casualty (unless it is against an elf).

elves

Post by Nermal »

not at all valen.

in fact i smashed a team of wood elves the other day to win the small league we have had running here in south wales. lucky boy managed to have an intact team at the end of the game as he only had a couple of miss the rest of the game results and his apo healed the serious injury. :(

never mind better luck next time. :D (might kill one  )

fouling

Post by Nermal »

i believe that fouling is a part of blood bowl.

it may not be everyons cup of tea, and if you are playing a friendly it may well be considered to be bad form,

but i think that it is bloodbowl, and in a rough and tumble game it can be expected.

as i said before, the IGMEOY rule has changed the game in the league i play in, people have chose not to select dirty player at all where they usually had 2 on the roster before.

as a coach i expect at least one foul made against me per half, if not i am shocked :o

I'm happy to keep fouling in, it's part of the game. I use it to stun elegible recievers with one turn to score; I use it to stun enemy players who I can use as barriers when building my cage; I use it to remove players who are important to the opposition from the game.

I like IGMEOY in as much as it doesn't allow any one player to go on a fouling rampage. You get 1 reasonably safe shot per half and only get more if the opponent wants to foul you back.

I'm dead against SPPs for casualties for one very simple reason. I can't remember the last league I played in where a DP didn't have the highest SPPs of anyone else in their team, if not the league. They're always the superstars of the team because they are generally getting a minimum of 4 SPPs per game. I'm of the opinion that a player who does nothing but stand on opposing player's faces is not really going to learn block, tackle, pro, sprint etc.
For a DP you make the foul as normal - and after rolling the Av can decide whether or not to add the extra +2. If you don't then you can use it on injury instead.

Thanks for IGMEOY
Remarkably anti-fouling comment there Ian. Is it my imagination or are you the coach of this team: http://www.irwilliams.com/ecbbl/team_viewer.php?id=7
