With all due respect Nazgit you are talking out of your arse. How do you know that people in the GCN are not Blood Bowlers? I am in the GCN, I may not do loads of tournies, but I have done all the BB's, run DungeonBowl Demos at GD for the last two years and run local leagues. If you want chance to buy a ticket early join a Gaming Club or start your own. If you only allow people who play in NAF tournies etc as you mentioned you are going to kill the game - in time. I don't totally agree that the GCN should get them before anyone else, but closing the BB off to all but the apparent Bloodbowl clique that is developing is worse.

I play GW games for several reasons, I love the models, I enjoy the games and I love going to tournies because of meeting new people and having a laugh. From what I have read in these posts there is very much a them and us thing developing between "hardcore" bloodbowl players and the rest of us, that saddens me a lot.

I am a member of a GCN club (one of the first and largest IIRC), though I rarely go now because they don't play enough Blood Bowl. Well, maybe that is unfair; interest peaks and troughs, but it isn't like I can go every week and get a game. The people there are all dedicated GW players and tournament goers. They play WFB, 40K etc. Some of them like BB too. But I don't know a single one of them, even the most fervent, who has been to a BB tournament other than the official BB GT itself in Nottingham.

Ever heard of playing Devil's advocate btw? This is a much needed debate IMO. I am not proclaiming any of the ideas I have presented as gospel, but merely trying to stimulate a discussion of their relative merits. Perhaps you might like to study the principles of debate before lauching agressive tirades in future?

Btw, I also have run demo games at Games Day and several other GW events, and so I know how hard that isn't.

I am not suggesting the BloodBowl be closed off to non-fanatics at all. But I am amazed that it is being closed off by the non-fanatics, so that the real hardcore legions won't get to go. I myself have tried to get a ticket for the first two BBs ... and couldn't. Now I know why.

Possibly the only fair system would be first come first served on the phones, as has been the case in previous years. But the current system, with fully half the tickets available to the GCN, is one of the worst I can conceive of. Anything I have suggested seems preferable to that.

A minor issue this throws up is the NAF ranking points the BB is worth. Mordredd became world #1 IIRC after performing well at only three tournaments, two of which were BBs. If the BB is to be swamped by part timers and coaches of lesser abilities, how can the ranking points it awards be justified.

Valen again I appologise but the way people were referring to the members of the GCN I felt was insulting to the time and effort I put into the hobby. I to would like an open and honest debate, but I deserve respect just like everyone else and being reffered to as 'they' is not very respectful.

Nazgit - this is the first time (I believe) that GCN have been able to get tickets early so this does not account for you not getting a ticket to the first two.

I'm not sure what the solution is, I think first come first served maybe the only option because any other way is going to upset someone.

Again if I seemed aggressive I appologise, but the GCN is something I feel passionately about and it felt like people were having a go without knowing what it's all about.

If this is what GW are doing, maybe they are doing it because:

If they offer half the tickets to GCN members (who play GFB or 40K) and BB when they(in the friendliest of terms) can, then GW gets to sell shitloads of WFB and 40K mini's on the day, instead of a few BB mini's.

Thus once again showing us they don't give a shit about the BB community, but just want to line their pockets.

Now, where was that thread about the possibilities of GW selling the Liscence to Bloodbowl!!

The intellectual Property licence that allows the company to produce the Product, by disallows individuals from making profit unless they buy a franchise from Games Workshop.

I know some of those words are bigger than you grum, but read them a few times and i am sure you will understand.

I just have a question to the GCN guys...how many of you'll be frustrated cause you coudnt get the ticket in normal conditions?

In the other hand...i know a lot of people who plans this trip for a year and now they, maybe, cant go.

Did you think this is fair?

Also if the WFB was a once a year one off tourny and GW offered half the allowance of the tickets to the NAF, hey i have a Vampire Counts army book around here somewhere.....

Its not that we are getting at the GCN, its really not and i am sure the guys and girls love to play blood bowl but it does not seem fair to every one else who ONLY play BB.

Is it going to case of all BB league joining the GCN?

What exaclty do you have to do to become part of it?

Why would you skip it? Just because of this ticket thing? Surely this would not stop your enjoyment of the event it'self?
