Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
ok one of the figures keeping me away from painting more blood bowl. It's for a local painting competition at a GW store in my area. I only had 1 weeks notice so this is what I could do before the weekend. Wish I had more time and really do it justice. Still I happy with the result. Just a few more projects like these and I can get back to the much loved blood bowl. I so want to get on the rest of my chaos dwarves expecially after seeing horekims!!! Gorgeous work he does.
oh sorry about the tomb kings theme yet again. It's the only large fig I had which is the category this month. Not quite done but I needed a break so I took some pictures.

If I had any suggestions I'd go for a slightly less colourful sand to make the vibrant yellows on the miniature itself stand out even further.
So how do you get such clean colours? Lots of layers of thinned paint??
I totally agree. I was just experimenting with a desert like colour for the sand. I typically go with a dark base but I wanted a themed entry. I'm sure everyone says this but my pictures taking process tends to wash out the intensity of the colours on my figs. In reality the colours go much darker. I'll just have to get better lighting sources.
I do use alot of layers of thinned paint but I think the reasaon my colours look clean is I spend alot of time getting a solid base colour down before I do anything else. I also blackline where two colours meet. That really helps makes the colours stand out.
