New Skill: Shoulder Push/Block

Post by WildAnimal »

Some times i think there should be a skill where you just could push players a side, make it easyer then making a block and push the opponent back TWICE.

When i play i sometime miss a skill who can make a hole in the opponent defence wall, not just a normal block where the opponent i maybe pushbacked once, and if your runner is going through, then you still have to dodge some tackle zones.

Shoulder block should only could make a pushback, it function like a normal block, roll the blocking dice(s), and threat the POW (and pow with the (i), result as a pushback, put push the defender 2 moves back.
The Both knockout except if block should still work, if the attacker has block the he pushback, if not then he has shoulder blocked into a hard wall, and is knocker over as an normal block.

This would make a large hole for your runners to explore. but cannot bring an opponent down. Maybe should it only function with an blitz move.

Is this an ok skill? and would someone with better english skills please re-write it for me?

Sounds like the Push skill from the MBBL2 and the BOBBA leagues:

Push (Strength SKILL) - When the player rolls a push back result (including Pow/Dodge when the opponent can use Dodge), he may chose to push the blocked player back one additional square in the same direction as the first square the opponent is pushed to. The pusher can still only follow up one square. Push may not be used against a player with Stand Firm or Side Step. For a player to be pushed back two squares, both squares must be empty and in a direct line behind the player. Push can be used to push a player into the crowd. If the 2nd square of the pushback following normal pushback rules has no available empty on pitch square to be pushed to, then the player will be pushed into the crowd.

A very popular skill with some coaches in the MBBL2. Have a Dwarf team where half the team has the skill.

Sound simple and use full.

I soon hope that there are coming more skills to the original rules

Say,
can this skill be combined with frenzy?
i.e. 1 block, then another, with a 2 square pushback.

Not "broken" as such, but I don't much like players in the 3rd square from the sidelines being pushed OOB.

Hmmm... why do you think my Sumo (ST 4) just got Frenzy when he rolled a double! Frenzy and Push are a great combination - even if you cannot push them out, he will create a huge hole to run through. Oh and having Stand Firm, he's not going to follow his opponent into the crowd.
