I'll probably try to get my second game in on sunday, with a 9-man nurgle squad. (thx Xtreme  )

My Chaos are doing ridiculously well, far more than they had any right to expect. Thus far we've played 3 varieties of elves, which are generally a tough matchup for a newbie Chaos team (the only worse ones are zons and maybe lizards IMO), and due to a big hand from nuffle have won them all.

I'm dreading the backlash we're going to get from all this luck though, but the lads are looking nice now.

RIP

Today we mourn the loss of Tor'A'N'Fect, a Beast of Nurgle of the Rotterdam Terrorsquad. Tor wasn't a very bright beast, nor was he very skilled or even able, but he always was the light of the post-match party. Tor was killed by the boot of a truely unscrupulous ( ) "Total Blood Bath" thrall, after blocking himself down in an effort to lay a tentacle on the ball carrier. Even while dying he helped the team as the offender was sent off and we had another shot at the ball carrier preventing a sure touchdown.
You will be missed my rotting friend.

My Chaos are starting to look quite evil now. Not to mention that some of them seem to be Nuffles secret love children.

I'm way out the running but I'd still like to get in my 10 games. Anyone want to take on some pulverized Dark Elves? :) Preferably around the 140 TR range. 10k more gold and I can finally replace the blitzer that died in my 2nd game :P

Well, Tzeentch vs Nuffle lost their first game today to zureal.

Don't let him tell you any different, he flat out outplayed me. I went into the game with the plan of scoring slowly on my first score to draw out the OTS on defense, and then panicked a bit when I couldn't hurt anything for a fair while. Combine this with an unhealthy obsession I developed in the first drive with scoring with my +AG, VLL warrior and you end up leaving a blitz on the non-block ball carrier. Even with two dice I pick, with a reroll its still not overly unlikely I end up on the floor.

Moral of the story - don't get obsessed with one plan when you can easily switch to another and be damn near guaranteed of scoring - the entire bottom flank of the pitch was open for a nice rolling screen while this was happening, and I had the players in position to use it.

At least I managed to unmuppetise myself in the second half and get a couple of consolation TDs, but you can't really expect to get 2-0 down against a OTS and win the game.

On another note, has there been any thought given to possibly making the Elite tourney something other than open round robin next season? Problem with Open round robins is the keen (or perhaps more accurately less busy) player race ahead, and then you have a rather large TR gap between those guys and the stragglers, which can be not conducive to getting games played. Its also a lot more open to cherrypicking.

With games in Rookie still available, it wouldn't necessarily hurt to make it a normal round robin on say a two week basis. That would allow plenty of time for those games where timezones don't match too well (ie all of mine :P ), but still get games done enough to keep things moving reasonably well.

Game vs Chunky.....

Post by Zureal »

Bah well despite my win versus Chunky which he summarized above, the skaven are painted into a corner. Two possible games left and the 6ST Rat Ogre picked up his second niggler on ageing... Bah!!!

Was a good game though. Not nearly as one sided as Chunky makes it sound. One or two rolls might have turned everything around.
