leap ?
Just a point that s not yet clear to me ...
If the player successfully makes the dice roll then they make a
perfect jump and may carry on moving. If the player fails the Agility
roll then he falls over in the square that he was leaping to, and the
opposing coach may make an Armour roll to see if he was injured.
A failed leap counts as a turnover, and the moving team’s turn
ends immediately. A player may only use the Leap skill once per
action.
i always thought you couldn t leap in diagonal, can you clear that for me ?

X leap over O can he choose to leap in square 1, 2 3 or just in 2

I don't have the DZ book or the LRB but I'm pretty sure that you can jump to any adjacent square behind of the square the player was leeping over. In my league we allways has played with these rules.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do belive that you have'nt write it all down about the leap skill, and especially not the part which you are asking about

crap, i just pasted it wrong, here are the words :
A player with the Leap skill is allowed to jump over an
adjacent square, even if it is occupied by a knocked over or
standing player from either team. Making a leap costs the
player two squares of his normal movement. In order to
make the leap, move the player to any empty square
adjacent to the square that they are jumping over, and then
make an Agility roll for the player. No modifiers apply to this
dice roll at all and the player does not have to dodge to
leave the square he starts in.

i can t tell why but i always thought that was in a straight line.. now i just see i was wrong.

Not only that, but you can even leap to a square right next to yours. For example, in the following example:
A B
C
The player standing in square A could jump over square B (adjacent to A) and into square C (adjacent to B), even though square C was right next to square A to begin with!
It's always been that way, but most people don't realize it (i know it took me years to realize it myself).

Erm, this ones gonna get some hits!
I think you have to leap over an occupied square. Now whether thats diagonally or parallel to the edges it still means in a straight line so the square you land in should be two squares away from the square you leapt from.
Longfang waits to stand corrected!

We all know that the exact wording often leaves a lot of questions and often leads to a lot of rule bending by those willing to exploit them. To leap using 2 points of movement to an adjacent square (maybe because the die role required wil be less than a dodge roll) is exploiting the wording of the rules, so if you want to be a devious player (CHEAT) carry on. If you leap it should be directly over an occupied square. The rules say OVER which in my mind would put you two squares away from your starting square.

Longfang: I have to agree with you. I can see your point here, and I haven't really thought of that before. Actually you just made me go back to my first post where I write that you have to jump to the three adjacant squares behind the one you are jumping over.
You are right longfang, thanks for the correction...
And yes it does make more sense that you are jumping over a player...

Rules allow jumping to a square next to the player. Whether this is good, I don't know. I haven't seen that abused, but I can easily imagine what a AG5/Leap elf would do when facing a choice between dodging or leaping into 6 TZ's next to him.
On the other hand, if jumping to that square would be banned, then he'd just circumvent this by dodging to a free square next to him, and then jumping over the original square to the target.
YMMV but I don't think this is such a big problem. I don't oppose changing it either.

Hey, it's what the rules say, so it's what you can do. The rules have been working that way since 1994 and it's been recorded that way for many years in the Oberwald. If they didn't like this interpretation at GW, they would have changed the rule a long time ago.
Besides, if a halfling can leap over a treeman at 4+, i don't see why an elf couldn't change direction in mid-air.
