eBay advice?

Post by Cpt. Sqweky »

I've got a bunch of 3rd ed. Blood Bowl blister packs that I'm gonna be selling on eBay for a friend of mine. And I was wondering if I would make the most money off of them by selling them individually, or by selling them in lots?

Anyway, if you all wouldn't mind helping me out, that would be cool.
Thanks.

If you sell them individually you may not sell them all but if you sell them all together you'll get less bidders because of the higher price.

I think if you sell them seperately you should pair up the ones that are more likely to sell with the ones that are less likely. I'm not sure what is more popular. It would be easier if you told us exactly what you have.

Or even better, just sell them to Margaretthorn and he'll sell them individually. :D

Hey no worries. 8)

I buy & sell a lot I know but think of it this way. I buy out mostly the big collections on and off line, sometimes for a few hundred pounds at a time. I then break these down and sell individuals so that coaches can recruit individual players without buying a load of chaff.

There is a bit of risk in what I do as I do on occasion pick up some real crap (paint jobs and damaged figures alike) These I usually clear once every few months in a job lot. :D

I really don't make as much profit on this overall venture as some may think. Especially after fees and Mr Tax Man takes their share.

The truth of it is I really enjoy buying lots and rumaging through. I make it a rule to keep a few figures here & there with great pait jobs or unique individuals. The real joy is when you come accross a gold mine of unreleased players - like Lizzy cheerleader, Dark elf catcher No 3, Mr unobtainable 2nd ed troll. Now these rock and tend to make a fair bit.

BB has almost become a bit of a service side of what I do nowadays as I have around 2000+ 2nd edn figures now. :o

It has to be said that smart players who e-mail me directly rather than going via ebay I usually cut a better deal for, other BB coaches will testify to this as private transfers fly under the radar of fees etc.

Oh well back to it then, at least this forum allows me to discuss these things and have a laugh as well. Good talking... 8) 8) 8)

Hey, honestly, I wasn't trying to burn you. Being a ebay seller myself, I know the hardships of having my auctions blacklisted. I think one of the best things you did was joining the board to defend yourself in the elegant way that you did. You didn't come on yelling and cursing at the other board members, you joined and calmly explained your side.

I meant it in jest. Often there will be joking remarks against other board members, just to get a rise out of them, for fun. :D Just talk to Hoomin about it, he's a great target for that.

So, if I offended, my apologies. Oh and welcome to the board. :D

Just saying that you're name is often referred to in a jest or such. :D

Of course, it is also promptly responded to by yourself with a quick jest in return.
