The other thing with khermi is if you take out thier Throw-Ra's they might as well pack up and go home, they are worse than useless at picking the ball up.
With my Delves i just kick deep, swarm the Throw-ra and worry about the rest if they ever manage to pick the ball up... avoiding MA 3 mummies is alot easier than MA 5 frenzy trollslayers!!
On offence i can out run the Mummies and be in for a score before they ever come into play generally.

Dwarves aren't boring, I play against them in ranked with my wood elves, rotters, humans, norse, and orcs. None of the games were boring because it was dwarves. In fact, by the same rationale given here, I would say Skaven are just as predictable and boring...pick up ball, pass ball, catch, run 13 squares, score....yawn.
My last game on fumbbl I think was an orc/dwarf game played in the rain. The rain denied me EVERY attempt to score and that made the game ironically...dry. My opponent however gave me a good brawl the whole way. Final score 0-0 - Looking forward to the rematch when the site gets up : )
Let's face it, there are "Junior Varsity" coaches and "Varsity" coaches. Those that can't deal with dirty player, RSC, one turners, dwarves etc etc are just not on the same level as those who can. Let the junior coaches keep to themselves and the "big boy" coaches play bloodbowl.
Thadrin, when fumbbl is up...let's schedule a game with those dwarves or whatever else you are in the mood to play : )

Elf teams are the best over (around) 210 TR. Whoever plays in FUMBBL faction knows that. In faction (specialy faction 1) there are many bash vs agility games and guess what? Most games are won by the Elves. All teams have some superplayers but the elf superplayers are like +AG, +ST, Leap, strip ball and they can brake any cage any time!
I play Orcs and I know that 9 (and some times less) Elves are enough to win the game.
I don't think Dwarfs or Khermi are very good teams. I win most games against them at any TR with Orcs.
Dwarfs are slow, less agile and they don't have st4 players like Orcs.
Khermi need lucky first blockes to win against Orcs. They are slow, they brake and they can't handle the ball.
In high TR Dwarfs and Khermi can damage an Elf team but it is almost impossible to win.
I believe that the hard/tricky part when coaching an elf team, is to get them in high TR and keep them there. This means that it is crazy for elves to play all their games against bashy teams.
********************************************************
I like the tournaments where you have to play with an equal or stronger or weaker team.
Every of those games are chalenging with their own way.
-When the teams are equal you have to play with your regular tacktics for the win.
-When your team is stronger you have to make a win and at the same time bring your team in the best possible condition for the next game.
-When your team is weaker you must stay back and reduse as much as possible the damage you will take or do crazy things, depending on how much you need the league points.
Every game is a differend task!

I don't think it was in dispute weither an agility team can best a dwarf or khemri team. I think the point was 'Why would someone want to?' I've played dwarves and chaos with my elf teams. You have as much chance of beating them as anyone else. Why would you play a game where you can have so many SIs and RIPs, and come up with only a tie at best if your opponent chooses to stall or cage the whole match?

That's why I refuse those games, if I score 2 TDs will I pretty much have secured a victory since the Dwarves and Khemri are too slow to equalize even if I end the game with 3 players.Captain1821 wrote: In high TR Dwarfs and Khermi can damage an Elf team but it is almost impossible to win.
I think the Dwarf coaches who whines should create one agility team each and then play it against the other bashy coaches bashy teams. That way would the bashy coaches have the opportunity to beat up elves while the rest of us keeps having fun...

Blood Bowl game - $60
Cost of a Human Team - $40
The look on your opponents face as his one-turn scorer gets taken down by a thrown rock from the fans – Priceless.

fumbbl down
I think the real point is what the coach is like, not what the team can do.
I've played a game against Amazons who did the cage thing and won 2-1 by denying me the ball, and I've also played against dwarves with a runner who could move like a wood elf... and did!
Basically, some coaches like to win with dramatic pass/run plays, and some coaches like to win by having no opposition left on the pitch to stop them.
Personally, in ranked or unranked, I don't see the point of destroying an opponent's team. Apart from a few extra SPPs it does you little good as you're unlikely to meet the same team (or coach) again and you'll just end up with a reputation as a killer and no one sensible will want to play you. In a small league, or a tournament, these things become more important and I think it's fair enough to win any way you can.
Personally, I love the challenge of playing every team as if they're wood elves... even Khemri. I may not win many games, but it's a lot of fun, and one day I'll have an AG4 passer... and someone who can catch!
PS: Sorry this is a bit off topic, but hey, did you know that fumbbl is down?

Did it ever occur to you, that this is because elves can cherrypick their opponents and bashers have to be careful about which (and what amount of) skills they pick if they want to get any games?
Dude, just look at major leagues with fixed schedules and see which teams dominate beyond TR 200. Very rarely will you encounter any elf-teams at all.
Yeah, that's because the bashers often couldn't pick the proper skills, else there would have been no game at all. Well, on top of that some orc coaches just suck (no idea why).In faction (specialy faction 1) there are many bash vs agility games and guess what? Most games are won by the Elves.
Khemri can suck indeed. They can perform quite good around TR 200 though.I don't think Dwarfs or Khermi are very good teams. I win most games against them at any TR with Orcs.
Shouldn't be too difficult for them to field 11 players with Guard and almost as many with MB though. And all them have Block (and often Tackle) as well.Dwarfs are slow, less agile and they don't have st4 players like Orcs.

In faction everyone has to cherrypick in order to go or stay in the premier category. The fact is that you can't cheerypick all the 8 games that you can play in the 2 weeks of a round. This means that games like "220TR Orcs vs 220TR Elves" will be played and the winner most times will be the Elves for the reasons I said. The Elves might not be able to play another Orc team in the next game but this is another story. Most Elf teams play at least 3 (out of 8 ) games every season vs bashers and they win atleast 2. It is not only the Elves that cheerypick sometimes. Bashy teams cheerypick too. Faction is formed that way. You must have a team after 8 games in order to stand for the next round.Mirascael wrote:Captain1821 wrote:Elf teams are the best over (around) 210 TR. Whoever plays in FUMBBL faction knows that.![]()

The High TR tournaments are dominated by bashers simply because most of the tournament teams are bashers.
If people start to apply agile teams to tournaments, then agile teams will dominate tournaments.

Truth is, faction bashers generally shy away from an abundance of bashy skills (especially DP) as it would make them a nono for most elf sides. In fact, faction-bashers have often been desperate to get any games at all. Elves can choose when to play them, very rarely does it work the other round. In leagues in which you can't avoid bashers it's simply GG for agile teams.
The reason that high TR-leagues with fixed schedules are dominated by bashers is because some races (namely chaos, chaos dwarves, orcs and dwarves) are simply better than others.Captain1821 wrote:The High TR tournaments are dominated by bashers simply because most of the tournament teams are bashers.

In a tournament with 8 Elf teams and 2 bashy teams, would a bashy team win the title?Mirascael wrote:The reason that high TR-leagues with fixed schedules are dominated by bashers is because some races (namely chaos, chaos dwarves, orcs and dwarves) are simply better than others.
No.
That's why in tournaments, the 1 or 2 Elf teams almost never win the title.

Well, a bashy teams would far more likely win in the first league than an elf teams would win in the second league. Otherwise you would encounter more agile teams in leagues.Captain1821 wrote:In a tournament with 8 Elf teams and 2 bashy teams, would a bashy team win the title?Mirascael wrote:The reason that high TR-leagues with fixed schedules are dominated by bashers is because some races (namely chaos, chaos dwarves, orcs and dwarves) are simply better than others.

open leagues: agile teams dominate, as they can cherrypick.
fixed schedule leagues: bash all the way, as they are much better.
If your assumptions hold any truth, then why do people join leagues with bashy teams (orcs, dwarves, chaos dwarves, chaos) almost exclusively, whereas they prefer agile teams in open formats? How do you explain this discreprancy?
So far your argument would appear to be that they apply for leagues with bashy teams since they apply for leagues with bashy teams.

Almost.Mirascael wrote:So far your argument would appear to be that they apply for leagues with bashy teams since they apply for leagues with bashy teams.
It is a fact that most people like bashy teams because they will have a longer life and a positive Cas dif number and not because it is easier to win with them. In a TR225 tournament, when you know that 9 out of 10 teams will be bashers, applying with an Elf team is madness because they will lose and die.
We would have more Elf teams if people liked fast TDs with long passes without caring about killing and not because it is easier to win with elves. Then putting an Orc team in a tournament with 9 Elf teams would be a waste of time because Orcs would lose most games.
Coach Uber created a few days ago the "KO challenge 2005" where 16 teams KO tournaments are made in various TRs. The cool part in this is that no more than 2 teams per race may participate and guess what! Elf teams, Skaven, Amazons, Humans apply for membership! I'm very curious to see the winner of the TR225 tournament that will start in a few days.
p.s.
Obviously some races are better than others, but in a way like the example:
In TR100 Amazons are weaker than Dwarfs, Dwarfs are weaker than Chaos, Chaos are weaker than Amazons.
