Like I mentioned before, if you're all dying of BB addiction, try coming and watching some OLBBL games. If you're feeling really desperate, you could even try playing. We don't bite! (other thant he players with fangs.... they bite)

I'm actually quite eager for fumbbl to reappear too. if nothing else, watching games on the client was fairly straightforward (when it works on my computer anyway... long story!), and I always like seeing a variety of tactics.

It does take a while to get used to the quirks of the coaches on the site. As a newbie, you are likely to get cherrypicked, and especially if you are a newbie who likes playing dodgy teams, you will get cherrypicked by bashers quite instantly. OTOH, if you play slow and boring teams (read "dwarves"), you will have a hard time getting a game.

That being said, I enjoy my games as much as I can, I don't let others being doorknobs ruin my fun, and I no longer feel any remorse declining a game I don't think I'll enjoy. I've taken plenty I didn't think I was going to win, but that's because it took me a while to figure out that most of the coaches on FUMBBL are in another class from the ones I used to beat regularly at the local GW store back when they used to actually play the game there.

Please, oh mighty NUFFLE, please bring back the FUMBBL website. I know how displeased you are with all the elf players, so I promise I'll play a Chaos team if you let the site come back. Pleeeeeeeeeeease.

If you think a$$holes and cherrypickers are unique to fumbbl, then you haven't had much experience in online gaming. And I've been beaten by coaches that were a lot worse than me before...who cares? It's a game. It's not like that never happens on the tabletop version. You can't learn to win if you don't know how to lose.

Nobody knows what the Indians did to the buffalos, but it must've been pretty sick because millions of these gentle beasts committed suicide by throwing themselves in front of the white man's gun.

Could we please come back to the topic?

The question is, why is fumbbl down and when will it be up again and not who was nice or nasty to whom.

Cheers,

PLATYPUS

Well, if the topic hadn't elvolved, then there wouldn't be a thread, as:

1. "why is fumbbl down" - No-one knows.
2. "when will it be up again " - No-one knows.

And that's just damn boring.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I pretty much gave up on FUMBBL when a challenge got refused because my Dwarf team that would have been giving up about twenty team rating "had too much block".

Bollocks.
I like that its there, Christer has achieved something incredible, but I just can't be bothered with it any more.
Mr Stone Age over here likes having a board, dice and painted lumps of metal thanks.

hey Thadrin, make yourself useful and give christer a shout for us all and see whats up. Certainly, someone in swedinland can contact him personally. We are all dying here!! Dying I tell you!!

PS- Whenever your ready to be a fan of bloodbowl again, come back to fumbbl and I'll play ya. Still lots of great coaches that outnumber the idiots and bad ones. If you got time to post 4000+ messages here, you got lots of time to play some online bb.

:o  FUMBBL is not the be all and end all of BB by any imagination.

Real Life Blood Bowl is real blood bowl. FUMBBL is just a good substitute.

I've posted 4000+ messages since this place started - getting on for four years now - and I can do it at work (sometimes).
I joined fumbbl quite near the start. I hardly recognise it these days. I do doccasionally drop by.

FUMBBL is suffering a major powergamer infestation, and I don't have the time - not at the moment anyway - to wade through them to get to the decent players.

personally i think that for learning how to play well Fumbbl is the best teaching tool around.

in the 4 months i have been playing there i have played and watch more styles and tactics than in the 4 years i played f2f.

certainly my skill level has improved immesurably <not that i am even average skill level for Fumbbl even now>
