I ahve had a few to be honest, one guy who gloated by beating me with pure luck and then one guy who hurled abuse at me because I beat him fair and square, there are just some people who ruin the league. And I have heard similar stories from others.

Stupid people all around us, no reason not to play in FUMBBL. It's great, i would never have met so many coaches from all over the world (and bashed them up just a little) without it. Bad experiences happen all the time, but using public transportation for one day gives me more shivers than playing a month on FUMBBL. So try it out and just avoid some coaches (won't take that much time to know their name). If you act nice, fun place to be.

No kidding. I run into A-holes everyday whether it be on fumbbl, at work or around town. There's loser cops who bust you for nothing and there's ones that let you go for something. No matter where you go you'll always meet a goof or two.

Sure, but in FUMBBL you always have the chance to smack their WEs up. (being one of the A-holes now :D )

Heh I dont mind being beaten by a better coach, but when I get beat by luck then also fair enough shit happens, but what I disagree with is when someone gets the luck to win and then brags about it, that smacks of a a-hole imo.

And in the game I won there was no luck involved the guy didnt know what he was doing, he was doing silly blocks and dodging when he didnt need to and just didnt really know what he was doing and then he started hurling abuse at me when I went 3-0 up, now that was a a-hole, no doubt about it.

And Neander, I never actually said I stayed away I clearly said that some people have bad expeiences and bad views on the league, simple as that. I do actually still play on there, so I have just chose to play on and hope I dont come accross more idiots, on FUMBBL or here for that matter

I've played about 15 games (can't check) and played 2 ar*eholes. That was 2 to many for me.

Both were guilty of disconnecting mid-turn when I'd had a good one, usually due to "connection" issues, which just happened to be when I've scored a TD or killed/SI'd a player. Of course, when they re-connect, the turn doesn't go the same way.
At the time, being relatively new to FUMBBL, I didn't relaise I should have informed the admins or whatever. I'm not sure if this is still a problem with the client now, but it was enough to put me off.

I do keep meaning to go back and look for guys I know for a game (gken, Valen, Asperon Thorn and a few others), but I dunno, maybe my experiances scarred me. Given the choice of a PBeM game, and a FUMBBL game, and I'll take PBeM everytime.

Valen: Sounds like you played against Holgi482 :o

That guy is actually such a prick that a group of coaches formed the HMU (Holgi Mangling Union). And I do actually believe that some things about Fumbbl might scare away players who have not had that many games there. It takes about 50 games to scout out who the regulars are and which of them you really don't want to play. After that you will have the standard DNP list that most coaches have and the ratio of bad games drops to about 1 in 20. I'd say those odds are not much worse than playing IRL.

Then I started working on a buddy list which is now about 20 coaches long, meaning that I play about 1 third of my matches against guys I've played before and whose personailities and playing styles I enjoy.

Yep, I'm totally hooked (400+ games since last september  )

My Bulls have the "Thin Skull" trait. After every block they make, roll a D6. On a 1+ they get ko-ed and stay in the ko-box for the rest of the game.

To be honest with you I was on ther every night for about 6 months a year ago and as you said I had a list of about 30 or 40 coaches I knew from tornis and on fumbbl who I played mostly. But afetr being away for so long I have lost that list of guys and now am guessing :(

Heh whats the problem with him?

He is a player from my local league and won it also one time. Ok when he doesn´t win his explanation is that you are a "lucker". And his answer to any of my complains was: "your mother!". And in the semies i had an call in the middth of the game and he asked who was it. So my answer was this time "your mother!"

He is quite a good guy and fairly nice, but he has some rude tone on complainings. :-?

WOW there's a HMU? LOL! I've never played him, but I've seen several occasions in chat people complaining about him. Some people may be nice in person, but they don't translate that well in the virtual world.

To answer a few of the questions, I've played about 150 games last year and ran into about 4 bad apples. Today, it doesn't matter, I know how to handle it. but yes, I'll play a RL friend anyday over a stranger in the fumbbl setting.

Nice to see the Fumbbl gang here : ) Most of the names I recognize. Anybody here go by a different name in fumbbl???

Oddly, I find that on the whole I enjoy my time on TBB, but there have been a lot of occasions when I and many others have had the misfortune to read the opinions of an absolute pillock, hence giving a lot of people a bad view of TBB.

When you look at a community the sheer size of FUMBBL, you can't help but have a few bad apples. I do find that they tend to go away after awhile - even Toby/Force got bored and left (last game was played middle of last year, and had a 34% win record).

I have played about 15 games on fumbbl and disliked playing against 3 of the other players.

However, the majority have been friendly and played good games. and this is what keeps (kept) me wanting to play on it. (also my regular oponent of real life BB is on holiday  )

Darkson- if you ever want a game i will be on fumbbl i will play you. Though i am not the best at the game  though i like to think i am pretty fair and fun to play.
