I think the Shadowforge Elves are much nicer than the official Amazon models, and I think that official GW tourneys are crap.....

that does not mean I do not buy and paint official GW models, it just means I have not and never will buy the official amazon models.....

yeah you could order it through gw at the store. they would phone it through to the mail order place. you would probably need to pay for it over the phone though with either a credit or debit card. not sure if you can pay for it at the shop. it would then be delivered either to your house or to the shop depending on which you want to do (going to the shop would take slightly longer but no delivery charge).

i would make up a valks team or use them as blitzers, but if you wanted to take part in an official gw tourney (like the bb in may) then you could only use official gw mini's but if you went to one of the smaller, better events then you can use whatever you want

Yeah the stores will order the team for you if you prefure and you can pay them in cash. That also means the postage is free which is nice.

IMO the Valk minis and the amazon minis wouldnt mix well though.

Having painted teams of both the GW zons (horrible casts!) and Phil Valks, I'd recommend the Valks without hestitation, they're much nicer figs and a joy to paint in comparison.
Full team of 16 will set you back $45 inc. shipping, which is around £25. You really can't go wrong.

....plus of course it's easy to field them as Norse or Human, they 'fit' either role better than the GW zons.
