Good place to buy minis in London?

Post by MickeX »

Hi there!

I'm off to London this wednesday, and I'm planning to buy some non-GW minis while I'm there. These are quite difficult to buy in Sweden, at least without buying through mail order.

So, does anyone know of a good store? Preferably something that's easy to locate for a tourist like me. If they have some board games too it'd be even better.

Cheers,
Micke

Hi,

Well as far as I can remember Orcs Nest in central London (about a 15-20 minute walk from the GW on Oxford Street) is the oldest and most successful independent wargames / rolepay shop in London. Here is the address to their online store:

http://www.orcsnest.com/

Of course, it all depends where in London you are visiting as it is a big place and there might be a better place more local to you. Where in London will you be staying?

Looks good! Actually, I'm not sure where I'll be staying (I'm going to the European Social Forum, but have no idea where that is so far :D ).

I'll probably go looking for minis the first thing I do when I get into the city from Heathrow, though.

You could try Leisure Games in Finchley. I've never been there, but it looks like they've got plenty of stuff.

There's also a little shop near me called And So It Begins. That's a few hundred metres up the road from South Ealing tube station, which is on the same line as Heathrow, so it might be convenient to have a look in there. Not sure what they stock though, beyond Warmachine and those Clix games.

Great! I think I'll have time to try out both of them. Thanks for the help!
