thats a good idea ... why not using a mini if it belongs in the right category ? As long the pict arrived in time...1. People can probably use what has already been painted
hm, this is a nice idea, but it will include that some people, not planing to buy online minis or this special mini, cant take part at this " competition " ? Maybe better most of the themes like Starplayer, catcher, thrower,.... and i think, we will still see minis of different companies.first competition a "Phigs comp"

Who is allowed to vote for the mini ? Just the participants or all TBB here ?

OK, i'm in
I don't think you'll have any big problems with deadlines, only the pics entered up to a certain date are included in the poll ... no shipping around minis and all that logistics needed like in the legacy teams.
Just make sure that you don't use the categories "Oversized Orc Minis" or "Minis battling with hamsters" ... although ... Trav might enter his entries into the "Elf touchdown moves" category anyway

As long as you have to participate in every single quarter I'd like to join as well.
Should there also be a limit on entries each quarter? I mean if we have 50-60 entries, me personally I would take the time to look through all of them (darn dial-up modem is way too slow). In order to have a decent poll there should be a limit of somewhere between 20-30 miniatures to vote on. So, whoever wants to participate has to post a picture of their mini in here or at in case they can't post it properly send it via e-mail to the coordinator and at the same time post a message here. And after the limit is reached no more entries are allowed.
I like the ideas of having specialty competitions (like Phigs humans, etc) but I'd say at least once per year to have an open competition.

About the problem some people might have with online ordering of minis; somebody here could order a team at Phigs and then distribute the minis between people wishing to take part in the competition. I think that that is a problem that can easily be solved!

i was thinking of only having maybe one or two specific ones a year anyway. so if there was a phigs one first then the next one or two would be open catagories.
so we've decided that it's all about the fun and kudos. voting would be everyone from tbb not just the participants. this would then get the broadest cross section of the community with everyone's views included.
and yes. you don't need to paint up something special each and everytime. if you have a certain figure that you're really happy with and it fits into the catagory then just enter. remember this is just for a bit of fun and to see whose brush strokes are the best.
so shall we decide what to go for first? should we do a phigs one first or stick with either open (any company) race or position. maybe even a star player one. lets put it to a sort of majority rule. list down what you want to see for the first one.
also any questions that you may have about this then either pm me or put it down here and we'll get some viewpoints.
YAY BRAINSTORM!!!

ok i would think that if there were 50 or 60 odd participants we would go with rounds of voting with smaller groups (say 5 rounds of 10 mini's) to then go into a final. If there was say 20 to 30 then just one lot.
I would also say that you can enter 1 mini for the contest, but you don't have to enter each one. so if it was a star player one first and you don't have a star player then just sit out that one and go for the next comp.
