Idiot judges..... I was sure that it would be a winner. If you want to ship it around the world I'll put it in the Games Day Canada Golden Demon under the "Forgeworld" category next year. :D Its very cool that the German Golden Demon has a bloodbowl category though! No such thing over here.....

It's really pretty pathetic that let you in the wrong category. :(

You would have had my vote!

Paihting Comp

Post by Babs »

Remember Trav, at the end of the day it's meant to be a _painting_ comp. No matter how cooler the mini, the paint job is meant to carry the day - so a boring mini with an awesome paint job is meant to win over a funky mini with a drab paint job every day.

Now it doesn't work like that in practice - but from the photos it's hard to see the detail on the mini. Perhpas that was why it didn't make the cut?

Were the Inquisitor minis better painted?

That'll kill you off. Basically I think you need to completely rock their socks off with the paintjob - and then if it's close then the mini choice / conversion etc. will matter.

At least, in a sane and logical painting competition it will - and Golden Demon is a painting comp - not a 'which mini is coolest' comp.

P.S. However, the large BB player is awesome - well done! Kudos for the work - and that base is really neat - the Run fast & Hit hard looks like the slogan off my tactics page on my website (badly needing work).

@babs
Cheers for explaining me, what the Golden Demon is...
And yes, i knew, i cant compare my painting skill with the skill of your Victoria Lamb !
Were the Inquisitor minis better painted?
... just check the link here with the winning entries
http://www.games-workshop.de/home/games ... nners.shtm
these are great winning entries IMO... but its quite a differnt story to paint a highly detailed, "just" partly converted inquisitor mini and to compare it with a miniature , made in a total different scale, mostly total new greenstuffed. I´m NOT telling that my miniature was better painted and didnt win. I just saying, my entry belonged in a different category .... my mistake and maybe GW staff´s , too ?!
Now it doesn't work like that in practice - but from the photos it's hard to see the detail on the mini.
i made a " Making Off" page at my site... there you can see more detail picts. Here the direct link:

Kudos for the work
Thanks ! :)
