Wanted: Blood Bowl Balls

Post by Griff »

As the subject suggests, I'm after some balls!

What do other league do when they are short on balls? I have six of my own, but I'd rather not use them.

Cheap and easy solution - Make a mould out of milliput/greenstuff (whatever) The way I do it is - cover a ball in talcum or vaseline or oil then shove it halfway into the greenstuff.Leave it for a while till the mould hardens then pop the ball back out.(You can tell by the seams on the ball when its halfway in) Then leave the mould to harden completely, mix up some fresh greenstuff, rub some vaseline in the mould, shove the greenstuff in leave it till its nearly set and tease it back out.(you may need to reshape it slightly) Do it twice and superglue the halfs together. Cheap and cheerful! 8)
Its not totally perfect but once painted up - its just as good and if you keep the moulds in a safe place you can make loads whenever you need them and in my league there seeems to be a habit of losing them all the time. Hope this helps dude

Extra heads from whatever sprues you've trimmed lately.

Small stones.

Olive pits.

Use your imagination. Anything will do.

Awesome stuff! It would never have occured to me that you can use Greenstuff as a mould!

Maybe I'll paint some pips or seeds red too! :D

Oh, I'm a lil worried about using my painted balls to make the mould... I've just put a purity seal over them, so they oughta be ok... Not too big of a deal if I have to paint em again though... just a pain in the butt. However, I'm guessing the talcom powder or what not sorta protects the paint from peeling off... right?

Buying Balls

Post by Babs »

Just for info. As in the other thread the Heresy Miniature coach comes with balls, I've also asked Neil from Shadowforge Miniatures
(http://www.shadowforge.com.au) to scuplt a ball or two - and he's agreed.
