GW UK online store chaos pricing.

Post by Deathwing »

Bought a team of vamps at this year's BB, not too bad at £20 for 12 players. Just browsing the site and I discover they want an astonishing £5.00 UK for a Vamp 4 (the one I haven't got) as well as Vamps 2 and 3. Yet Vamp 5 (the female one) is listed at £2 (same price as thralls).

I could take pot luck and buy a vamp blister pack for £6 which contains a random vamp and two thralls. I think that has to be the way to go, try and trade any duplicate vamps for the vamp 4 I need on here or something.

£5 each? Why? Let's get some perspective on this. I know that's the going rate for Stars and I'm fully aware of GWs policy of charging more for characters rather than stock troops in other systems, but these are team players. Any of the new Elves for example are listed at £2.50 each. A two part Saurus works out £3.50. A Rotter is £2. A Khemri mummy is £3. Yet 3 of the 4 vamps are priced the same as Star Players at £5 while the other one is £2! :o

Notice the Dwarf ref has lept to an amazing £6?

Nurgle blister packs give you a random rotter and a random beastman for £7. Yet you can get any specific beastman or rotter for £2 each.

WTF is going on over there? Who is making these decisions? The mind boggles.....

the vamps weren't in the catalogue at the BB, so I just asked for a box and a mix of extra vamps and thralls (luckily got them all) but the total cost (6 vamps, 1 lord, and 10 thralls) was more than buying 2 complete boxes!!! over £40

Sounds like you got stitched by the same ludicrous pricing.
£20 for the box (a lord, 3 vamps and 8 thralls)
+£15 for 3 more vamps.
+£6 for 3 more thralls.

£41. Could have got two boxes getting you a spare lord and 5 extra thralls to trade for £1 less.

Lovely. :-?

Another funny thing; ordering through online store: 8 pounds postage to the Netherlands for 4 figures (and that's the minimum apparently!)
Ordering same stuff through phone: 4 pounds postage...

Weird

Oh, and; ordering a similar amount of minis from Heresy: 2.50 pounds postage (if I remember correctly)
