Boost Sure Hands

Post by Toby »

Sure Hands (General Skill)
A player with the Sure Hands skill is allowed to re-roll the dice if he fails to pick up the ball. In addition, the Strip Ball skill will not work against a player with this skill.

Suggestion:
Sure Hands allow a player to re-roll the die if he drops a hand-off or fails to pick up the ball.

Hand offs are only dropped by the player recieving the ball as the roll is to see if he catches it. Seeing as CATCH can already be used on a failed HO why should surehands

because runners & throwers dont have catch.

it would be really interesting because sure hands would make a player that is good at picking up the ball and getting it handed, even in tackle zones, and keeping it as well. (A reroll pickup, B reroll drop, C denie stripball)

I have running plays in mind. running plays with throwers and runners.
Running without throwing.

In that case they ought to take Catch as their next skill.

they dont have acces to agility skills, and it would require one more star player roll.

whats the problem with boosting hand-offs just a little bit ?

Well you could always choose to play with an elf team instead - they all have access to agility skills. :P

Anyway, being slight less facetious, let's deal with dwarven runners. As it is they are the dwarves best way of handling the ball, and you seem to want to make them better at handling it. But are you forgeting that dwarves are superb at hitting the opposition and that handling the ball is where they are supposed to be less good? If you want to make dwarves better ball handlers, then they ought to be worse at hitting people. It's all game balance IMHO.

Cheers,
Martyn

It is already a good skill why enhance it? It works fine, it's a skill which a lot of coaches have on their team. What is the problem?
