Don't understand a particular rule or just need to clarify something? This is the forum for you. With 2 of the BBRC members and the main LRB5/6 writer present at TFF, you're bound to get as good an answer as possible.
Passblocking a thrown team mate? The skill is meant to interfere with the ball, not a player. i don't think you should be able to use Passblock on TTM. It's not like flying gobbos are breaking the game.
Well, it does say (I think, I don't have the rules in front of me) that the player with Pass Block can only move if:
A) They can get into position to try to intercept the ball or
B) They can get into the tackle zone of the thrower/catcher.
Since a thrown team-mate can't be intercepted, then condition A is never fulfilled, so I'd say the player can only use Pass Block to move on a TTM if he can satisfy condition B.
Personally I think you shouldn't be able to. As Anthony said, Pass Block is intended to interfere with the trajectory of the ball. Since a player has no hope if that during a thron teammate, it shouldn't be able to be used. I mean, the skill is called "PASS Block", not "Disrupt Throw".
The LRB only refers to "passing the ball" in the Pass Block description. Therefore I'd say you can't PB a TTM. If someone wanted to I don't think I'd argue the point either way.
I figure it also says that TTM is "treated like a normal pass, except...", and then lists all the exceptions that apply. Either way though, whatever the players or commish agrees on sits fine with me. By the way, how often does this event happen?
Doesn't LRB state that a Thrown Teammate can't be intercepted to begin with. I don't have the LRB with me right now. So that would kinda defeat the PB to intercept. I kinda like the idea that one would be able to PB the thrower or catcher to disrupt them. Good chance for the interceptor to get landed on at the end of the throw. That would be funny
