I have to suggest that you ignore the reccomendations for GW paints or Vallejo paints (as much as I love the guy's work) and just go to your local craft store and buy regular acrylic paint. It's the same damn stuff. As much as GW would want you to think that they (or any other company) has developed some special formula, it's all crap. Acrylic paint is acrylic paint is acrylic paint. Look at your local Hobby Lobby, Ben Franklin's, Michael's or whatever and get the paint that comes in the 2 oz. bottles.
Prices range from .50 cents to around $2.00.
Compare that to $2.00 for 1oz from specialist paints and you'll see the difference. I just bought 18 2oz bottles for just under $9. That amount of paint from GW would have been near $80! (because I bought 3 bottles of metallics)
The paints are the exact same stuff (trust me I'm an art student) and the bottles come with a top that can squeeze the paint out or unscrew to our it out. Not only that but it won't dry out in 2 months like GW paints will.
The only ONLY ONLY drawback is that the colors have some fruity names. Lilac white or Green Apple green doesn't sound as cool as Skull White or Snot Green but who cares?
This mini was painted with plain acrylics. The photo sucks because I don't have decent scanner or camera. There's actually more highlights on him than the scanner picked up.
