Throw Team Mate question

Post by Vitalis »

Throwing the little guy could help score TDs whenever the little guy has the ball or can be thrown near the ball.
However there seems to be an even more fun way of using this skill:
To break seemingly unbreakable formations on the opposite team.

The rules state, that whenever the little guy lands on a player, both the little guy and the unlucky player falls over. :o

Now to the questions:

1) What happens if the standing player to be knocked over has Stand Firm?

2) Is it a turnover?

3) Who gets any SPP-points from any casualties?

4) How should inaccurate passes be treated?

From the LRB, page 23:
In addition, the team-mate must be thrown to an empty square

So its a somewhat untrustworthy plan.
Now to the questions:

1) What happens if the standing player to be knocked over has Stand Firm?
I would rule that Stand Firm does not work as its not a normal Push Back ... but this one would be up for interpretation.
2) Is it a turnover?
Page 8 of the LRB:
Turnover = A player on the moving team is knocked down or falls over
Page 23 of the LRB:
If they land on top of another player, then both they and the other player are knocked over

So I would have to say ... yup its a turnover.
3) Who gets any SPP-points from any casualties?
Page 39 of the LRB:
The points are only earned if the player blocks an opponent or is blocked by an opponent himself. Casualties inflicted in any other way do not count for Star Player points.

So no one gets an SPPs if a casualty occurs.
4) How should inaccurate passes be treated?
Page 23 of the LRB:
The throw is treated like a normal pass, except that the range is treated as being one band higher

So you roll the scatter dice 3 times to see that the actual landing square was ... remember the 3 scatter dice from an inaccurate pass is NOT a bouncing simulation but just the method of determining the landing square.

That should cover it.

Indeed it does.

Thanx for the speedy and exhausting reply.

It would seem my league is not currently 100% up to date on this...
