It's the last 1min 30sec that gets really crazy. Take a look at the bid history on some of the items you've been amazed at in the past. I've had my own items I was selling triple in the last 20 seconds and I've seen other people's items do more than that. Sometimes just watching the names change is a lot of fun. I know from personal experience what the other guys are going through and I get some small, perverse pleasure out of knowing that their stomachs are turning over.

I have the strange feeling that if this would have been a 100 GBP instant-buy auction, it wouldn't have lasted that long...

I guess it would have been easier to email all Death Bowl attendees and offer them flat 50 GBPs...
