Here's the situation
it is my turn, I have just knocked over my opponents blitzer who carried the ball, it bounces and lands on one of my players squares, he attemps to catch but fails and the ball lands in an empty square. Does this cause a turnover?? can this really be true that i should be punished for knocking over an opponent and then fail to catch a ball ball that accidently scatters into my players face. LRB says that the if the target fails to catch the ball it causes a turnover, but was there any target??
Thanks on beforehand
Turnover when failed attempt to catch a bouncing ball?

Hi!
This is quite clear in the LRB, but is non-the less often misunderstood. The 2 instances when a turnover occurs that cause the confusion here are:
Turnover occurs, if after a pass is passed and the ball comes to rest (after possible bouncing), the ball does not end up in the passing team's possession. The ball may bounce, go out of bounds, etc. but if it ends in the passing team's possession it is not a turnover.
When you attempt to pick up the ball you have to succeed or it is a turnover even if the player attempting the pick up eventually ends up in possession of the ball after bouncing.
