What do U think of my CD team?

2 months ago we started to play BB league here in Bratislava, SK.
after 12 matches (8wins, 2draws, 2losses-both against skaven!!),
my team looks:

6 CD blockers - 2 with Guard, 1 with Diving Tackle
BC with Block, Break Tackle, Piling On
BC with +1AG, Block, Sure Hands (my prime scorer)
Troll with Block, Multiple Block
Hobbo with Sure Hands, Block (my quarterback)
Hobbo with Sure Hands
Hobbo with Kick
Hobbo with Dirty Player
& one unskilled Hobbo
4 TRR
10 FF
Apoth
2 cheers & 2 Ass.C.
money: 180K

My question is: What do you think I need to improve, or what I did
wrong? we are heading to the league tournament, so I need to be
prepared as much as posssible.
btw I know my Troll needs Pro and someone needs Leader, but I didn't
roll double since I bought him and I wanted to have a Big Hitter with my
guard CD blockers.

Well, first of all that looks to be a really nice team! Well rounded, too.. The first thing that springs to mind, though, is that I wouldn't have chosen multiple block for the troll. It's not necesserily a bad choice in itself, but I would have gone with something a bit more all-round, I mean unless there are a lot of goblin teams around I wouldn't think you'd get to use Multiple Block that often. Piling On (while predictable) would IMO serve you better, same goes for Pro (but you already wrote that, so...). Or maybe Guard, for some reason not many people I know take Guard on their Big Guys.. they are so much harder to move, and if Piling On, well, nobody says they have to go first.. (unless it's a Wild Animal)..

If I understand you correctly, you are moving towards the finals / play-offs for your tournament, right? If so, I'd maybe buy another Hobbo, but save the rest for freebooting wizards / Hthark etc. for the tough battles, with a lot of Block skills around you should have enough for the ball-handling in 4 RR's, especially since your BC has +AG.. For improvements, I think you should give someone Strip Ball, though CD's don't need it as badly as other teams, since they have lots of Tackle to go around..

Finally, since you say you lost twice to Skaven, here's my favourite defense against Skaven (and Woodies etc.):

first of all, thank U for your opinion MixX.
1) for my Troll – I gave him Multiple Block mainly from the fun of the game, but I use it often to be satisfied with it. About 50% of his blocks. Piling On – I’m cautious with this skill, cause I don’t wanna let him foul. I want to give this skill to my CD blockers. Guard – with his Really Stupid I think it’s not the best idea.
2) After the last match I gave Piling On to my less agile BC. There was the option of giving him Strip Ball, but I assumed that he is usually blocking those players that are picking up the ball, and not those that are scoring TDs. And they usually have Sure Hands, so ...
3) I’m thinking about buying a new Hobbo for the tournament, but till now I really didn’t need him. I just bought my 5th and 6th after the 5th died. Maybe I’ll need them more against running teams.
4) I don’t like this defense, since it’s vulnerable in the middle that is never hard to crash. I saw a lot of defensive formations and against running teams I like the sort of a deep defense morewith spreaded 3 LoS players.

This one would be better IMO, but only against dodgy teams, I wouldn't use this against bash.

I don't like your defense either Darkson. it's easy to block CD blocker on the LoS and dodge once around my Troll. And I don't wanna let him go deep into my half of the pitch with the ball. because even when he doesn't score, he can stand up, pick up the ball (that I'm often unable to pick up) and score.

curse my evil computer at work ... can't view the damn defensive lineups suggested. I've had a bit of defensive difficulty with my chaos dwarf team. After 7 straight wins allowing just 3 TD's I lost 2 game in a row allowing 6 ... and almost failed to beat a human team in my most recent game.

Obviously Guard is a fine skill for Blockers, but getting some mighty blow in there would be really helpful too. I'd take MB over Piling On. As teams develope they grow less and less vulnerable (gets block etc.) to our brave dwarves ... so adding some power to the team is important.

For the Troll I wouldn't hesitate to give him piling on. Sure he may get fouled, but I get the impression that (with Multiple Block) that's he's pretty close to a couple of Chaos Dwarves most of the time so your opponent will not find it easy to get a lot of assists when he's fouling the troll. Besides, after the first foul he takes a 50-50 chances to get send off with each subsequent foul ... that's an effective detterant (sp?) and it should allow you a good amount of fairly troublefree maiming

Just be sure to pick your spot with your piling on.

Ok guys,
now I got another question: what is better for CD blocker? Mighty Blow or Piling On? and Why?
cause I wanted to give'em Piling On, but it looks U like Mighty Blow more on them.
If you know about some probability comparisons of casualties for those two skills, then you're welcome.

Juggernaut: On the CD's, I think you should split your squad : half of them with Piling On + Mighty Blow, the other half with Guard + Mighty Blow. Cause you don't want to mix Guard and Piling on, since it "cancels" itself. Diving tackle on the double is a great idea, I think.

I don't agree with giving Piling On to a BC though: since they're your fastest player, you want them on their feet most of the time !

Take a look at my team if you wish. But take notes : there are some development mistakes (dirty player on a CD... we used to play that CAS on Fouls gave 2 spps...) Otherwise, I think my team is weel balanced: I won two pennants in three seasons and won the first two championships ! We start the playoffs tonite !

finaly someone, who shares my opinion. I ment to do exactly that with my CD's. but they are happy to get one improvement, second is far beyond their reach now. maybe with some lucky MVP rolls

which skill U give first on this half of CD's with Piling On? Piling On or Mighty Blow?
Yeah, I like my Diving Tackle CD. he is sometimes very annoying for the oponent.

and that's what I wanted.
About the BC and Piling On - I thought very much what to give him and I still may change it, cause I didn't play since that improvement. what would U give him?
I like your team, but I've seen it before. U posted it somewhere before.

I'm going to give that unskilled hobbo block, then I'll have 2 with it. I need 2 of them against bashing teams.
I'm hoping for any doubles on any player (I've got just one - on CD), but I need to give someone Leader. but anyway I would prefer to give that hobbo Accurate instead of Pass. I think it's better, because U can still spend your TRR, but Accurate improves your chance for the first and also for the second try. it's important for an AG3 player.

Piling on for Dwarves: No. If you're planning to give them guard, then you're reducing their ability to assist. Take Mighty Blow instead.

Piling on for Bull Centaurs: No. These guys are you mobile crushers, and you don't want them on the ground. Also, they're your biggest targets, so piling on would make 'em too easy to foul.

Piling on for Trolls: YES. We all agree that Piling on is generally "ridiculously strong". The Troll isn't going to be running around alot and is almost impossible to hurt long term with fouling. With the strength of 5, Trolls are probably the *perfect* choice for piling on.

Juggernaut: since he looks more like your defensive BC, go with either Strip Ball, Tackle or Mighty Blow if you want him to gain a bit more CAS SPP's.

My CDs are coming on quite nicely. After 9 games (W5 D1 L4 - lost 2 of those due to a combination of bad luck and stupidity in T15/16), the summer league is almost up. Just outside the top 4, Undead, Human, Skaven & Lizzies. 1st 4 go on to semi/final.

6 Cds - 3 with both Guard and M/Blow. 1 has Piling On

3 Hobs with # pass, #sure hands/leader # kick

2 BCs one rookie (only member of my team without a single SPP) the other St 5 Block Break Tackle

an Apothecary

and Hthark

who i just bought using all my cash, selling a Hob and a loan of 20k from the Evil Loan Co

CD and BC died along the way and i roll nothing but 1s for match winnings. Still, having 3 BCs may be fun in the nxt couple of games
