Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
forgot to post what its gonna be for, im just gonna try and beat down the opposition and the thrower takes the ball in for a TD in the league there will be 4 other orcs, 2 dwarves, 1 chaos team, and i think thats it for other strength teams the rest are a mix of a couple elf teams skaven undead and i think thats it
I always like the max 4 Blitzers on an Orc team. The extra MA, AG and the fact that they start with Block gives you more versatility (and they will pick up SPPs much faster than BOBs). Personally I don't think it's worth trading 2MA, 1AG and the Block skill for 1ST. So I'd replace a BOB with a Blitzer at least.

The roster is pretty optimal - it's nice to be able to have all 3 LOS players with S4, and three blitzers is easily enough to cover the field on both offence and defence. I'd be tempted to ditch a lineman for a goblin, unless you're playing in an ultra bashy league, because he gives you more of a scoring threat with access to AG skills, allowing your blitzers to pick up some of the nice defensive skills. The extra 10'000 can be tacked onto your FF. I started a team with this set up except I had 4 BO's and 2 blitzers and it worked very well from the start.

"Well I am a king!"
"Oh King! Very nice! And how d'you get that then?"
I like your lineup. Blockers need a lot of time to develop and therefore I like to buy most of them right away.
My Orc lineup was very similar to yours. My first buy was 4th blitzer and after that I bought the 4th blocker. After that I bought an Ogre and two Goblins. Ogre is always a nice LOS player and goblins very useful in offence.

Very very soon a brand new League in my hometown will start.
I'm going to play my Orkteam and right now I am thinking about my first set up.
In this first season I will have to face bashy dwarfs, humans who like some rumble (4 blitzers!!!) and some unknown Undead (heared rumors about two mummies....*frighten*)
Well, first I thought about a set up like
2 BOB
2 Blitzer
1 Thrower
6 LM
FF 6
RR 4
or something with 3 BOBs and 3 Blitzers.
But right now I think about a set up with an evil bone-crashing OGER!
1 OGER
2 BOB
2 Blitzer
1 Thrower
1 Goblin
4 LM
FF 6
RR 3
What do you think, should I try to beat the bashy-power of my oppenents or should I play a very different way?
One thing for sure: The aid-men will have a very busy time!

I think you should ditch the Ogre, and instead go with something like those suggested above:
If you are going to be playing only 8-10 matches, I don't think you need a maxed out FF... I might even consider dropping a Goblin and some FF for another BOB.. but then again, I go against the general opinion in that I don't value FF that highly.. (please don't give me another mathematical "this is why you should choose FF 9" pitch... I know, I've read them, and I still don't agree!). Please note that I think there's a lot of sense to FF 9, I just don't think it's imperative.. And no disrespect meant to those who can calculate all that math stuff, I can't!
and 20.000 gold in my pocket. So after the first game the Apo is save and perhaps a new player =)
I would like to have just one Gobbo in 11 players. Perhaps a second one as number 12 or 13. I don't like his weakness and to be honest, the gobbo doesnt make the big points in my games (althoug he is a very good ball carrier)

MixX lineup is nice, but should he take just 2 KO's or Injuries with his lineman/Black Orcs, he is putting Blitzers on the wall on defense, and that is IMO a bad move. They may be tough, but I don't let anybody hit my Blitzers anymore than they have to be hit. They are the lifeblood of any Orc team.

Quite so... I am just all for taking chances!! And in most cases, it pays off.. For the grand Blood Bowl Tournament Of Everlasting Fame (!) I'd maybe take something a bit more conservative, but that's all up to personal taste. For the first few games, AV9+Block blitzers are quite likely so survive, IMO. Of course, you can be unlucky etc, but there's no way of preventing that!
Goblins are great in an orc team! With all the power from blitzers and black orcs you will be able to hit the ball loose. But you can't get to it with all the tacklezones in the way! That is where the goblins come in! take two in a starting lineup and use them in the back field on defence, blitzing those that gets through your frontline. On offence use them as runners/catchers.
