Should I replace my BOB?
Disaster! I played a Goblin team yesterday with my Orcs, and only managed a draw. Fair enough, I can live with that if only I crush the little bastards (which I did, 2 kills, 1 NIG and 3 more MNG's). BUT! His Ogres crushed me back.. One BOB killed (Block and Mighty Blow, DAMN!) and one took -1 ST (yep, a BOB with ST3!) Now my question is, should I retire the ST3 BOB? He's got Block and Piling On, and had just turned into a real casualty machine... If I DO retire him, I'm down to 2 BOBs, one with no skills and one mean mother****** with Block, Mighty Blow and Piling On.. I can't really decide...

Yep, keep him. With his skills he will still be a fine lineman on the LOS. And dont forget the psychologic effect that the BOB model still has
Your enemy can't smell that he is weak, although he can check it, of course.

good point. the opponent might forget that he is just a feeble ST3 loser (with block, that is) and might treat him as a ST4 guy.Lordred wrote:Yep, keep him. With his skills he will still be a fine lineman on the LOS. And dont forget the psychologic effect that the BOB model still has

wait till you got enough money for a third and a fourth BOB, then retire him... a nice TR decrease will come along with that

Actually, that worked quite well with a ST2 blitzer of mine. I always set him up in a way, that he either had a 2D block, when he hit or the opponent assumed ST3 and built up for a ST4 block. That way it took quite some time for my opponents to discover he was ST2. Once this got known, though, he was block to pulp by stoopid linemen.

I suppose I will keep him then. I won't be surprised if he manages to make 3 CAS and get an MVP in the next match though.. Though usually, this happens to the guys that actually DIE, or as in the last match to Goblins with NIGs... I think that at the very least, a player should have made some SPP's to be eligible for MVP, just a COMP or a CAS, but it seems stupid that a Gobbo that sat in the reserves box for the entire match and did NOTHING gets it.. Damn!

MVPs
in our league we can assign the MVP. does mean people abuse it to build up players that shouldn't really be built up, but it does mean that a reserve doesn't get it which is totally ridiculous. or more to the point a gobbo, which should never be considered valuable by any right minded orc

Drop him. I completely agree with Ian on that issue. He is not really more useful than a rookie lineman, and must be worth at least 11 points of TR for your team (80k (8pts) + 16spps minimum (3pts) = 11pts). If you have less than 13 players as a result, then you might consider keeping him as fodder. If you will find yourself with 13 players or more without this guy, I suggest you get rid of him right now.
