i have question about this trip: where do we sleep ?
Do we have to find a hotel or will we sleep in somebody's home?

Spyke: That's our plan of attack as well, dunno who's cheapest for flights etc; buzz me a mail or pm and we'll get something sorted. In the meanwhile, you're more than welcome to come down and play some BB, whether it's tourney rosters, Wodell games, friendlies or whatever. Be good to see ya chap, we're less than an hour's drive away!

Norse/Lucy: C'mon guys, get it sorted! Got enough boards etc? We could bring some stuff to help out if necessary, no probs.

Well, we got most things sorted out today. Tomorrow we'll check the playing accomodations and organise everything with the pub owner.
Furthermore, then we'll want everybody's christian names mailed to us (for blackmail purposes) and ask how many of you would want us to find cheap sleeping accomodations. The rules will be ressurection, without starplayers, but the tourney will be slightly different (we actually want to see the final played).
We probably will need three boards.

I guess that was most of it, This weekend or monday, we'll have lots of more info....

Same as Spike, we will wait those informations (like the cost you think it need for sleeping) to see if we can afford the trip.
Will tell you then.

To bad you can't come Karegon.... :(

For the others....
Most info is now available.

Format: Teams must be bought for 1.000.000
We'll use the big guys allies list, no starplayers allowed.
Worse injuries then Badly hurt will not follow through to the next matches.

http://www.legendz.nl is the place where the tourney will be held.
Since the bar will open on sunday especially for us..... Norse and I thought that we might buy something for the barowner... Therefore we would like everybody to donate a small amount to buy the guy a present. Thoughts on the amount and the present itself would be appreciated.

We'll play 3 games on saturday and 2 on sunday. The dates are 20 and 21 of july. Both days we'll start at 12.00

We want to try a new way to appoint the winner. The winner will be the team who accumalated the most SPP's. We would like feedback on this as well, but guess that it should be playable and keep players chances high until the last game. Second price will go to the most amazing comeback on day two, meaning, team which makes best recovery on the second day.

We'll put a website up, at least a month before the tournament begins, where everybody can put his teams online. This way, we'll be able to use a laptop on the tourney days and let the adjustments roll out of the computer.

Furthermore, after the first game, one random player gets a skill/trait. After the second game you get two more, after the third three, etc....

We're checking out hotels at the moment. So feedback on roomsharing, how long you're staying and other things would be appreaciated a.s.a.p.
Since the cheapest hotels are of course all booked out, it will take some effort to find cheap accomodations.
Searching on
http://hotel.pagina.nl/ is a good option if you have some spare time.....

Alright, here is an option, but it would be nice if all participating would state if they want to sleep in one hotel, and how many nights.

Best Western Lancaster Hotel
3 nights, 1420 for 8 persons…… meaning 177 Euro p/p.

The sooner people respond the better.

I could also house one guest actually, maybe some others as well. But we're unable to get 10 people in our rooms

So that's around £37 a night each, sounds good to me. We're on for a 3 night stay, so I guess you could count Longfang, ajfalco and myself in.

Well, something BB related would be cool! How about a Thrud or something? Painted up and maybe mounted on a small wooden base with a brass plaque, it'd look real cool behind the bar, and may generate some interest among the regular Magic players. Could even get one of those glass domed figure display cases. Plus of course I'm going to have a serious attempt at drinking the bar dry after Game 2 on Sunday! Image

Gidday troops, I've already made tentative reservations at

Mercure Deventer
Deventerweg 121 Overijssel
Deventer Netherlands 7418 DA
Phone Number: 31-570624022
Fax: 31-570625346

€255 (£160) for 3 nights for a twin room, which works out to just under £27 per person per night. However there will be some benefit if everyone is at the same hotel so when in Rome . . . (all right - Amsterdam).

Er... where the hell is Deventer?

Lucy, your local knowledge is needed here! Be careful not to leave yourselves a lengthy commute guys... I'd feel a lot happier if I saw "Amsterdam" in the address....

Personally I think that Deventer is a little far off, but since Holland is a small country, it only means an hour drive by car. Trainconnections to Deventer aren't the best though.

Please inform the guys who don't visit TalkBB what their preferences are. The sooner we know, the sooner we can organise accomodations.....

Deventer? I don't know, but i'm sure you wouldn't like to ride your bikes from A'dam to Deventer after a day off at Legendz! Lucy and Norse are booking gallons of beer for the championship!

Yickes! I really want to go and greet you all there ...

Watch out for some evil looking chaos dwarves hats coming way from southern Europe!

nice fact that they don't use 'gilders' any more! alstublieff! (check my spelling!)
