MD - that was a really strange interpretation of WA I'm glad you've sorted it out. If it was a premeditated play, kudos for the player seeing the possibility but a slap in the face for trying it. I agree with DD that you can't use a re-roll to 'evade' the WA rule.
I voted keep the IP rule as it is.
It does bring a human element to the game, people do make mistakes - coaches will make bad calls etc. I've no problem being called for it nor any qualms with calling my opponent for it.
I don't think it's a cheap way to win a turnover - it's just another factor to be aware of. I agree with a lot that ExeGAMER had to say - when the pressure is on mistakes can and do happen - but that's part of the game.
The time limit is another thing I don't have a problem with. I've found that the early downs are when you need a bit more time but later on in the half you have fewer options and can make quicker plays (1-2mins).
In tournaments I'll play IP to the letter - I'll let my opponent know that at the beginning (just in case he's not used to playing it). That doesn't mean I'll be watching like a hawk to catch it (in fact I've missed calling on several occasions as I've been too engrossed in the game) what it does mean is that we'll be playing a 'no quarter asked no quarter given' game anything goes - we can both benefit or lose out to the same things.
Sure it might feel like a tough game, but win or lose they're the best ones IMO

I think Chet or somebody went through this a while back. It's supposed to work something like this:McDeth wrote:To be honest i haven't come across the situation before, and not having an official ruling at the time i was forced to make a decision, i dont think the intent was to get around the rules, but rather a misundersatnding of the way Wild animal works. Its been cleared now, so shouldn't happen again
He tries to take an action with the WA.
You immediately call IP.
He burns a RR.

He's used his TRR that turn.
Turnover.
Now some people might argue the wording/timing etc; but that's how it's supposed to work.

Very good DW. You're right. Spending the RR doesn't make it any less of an Illegal Procedure. If he tries to move again, it's a turnover. I hadn't thought of that. It does work that way.
Either that or the IP call ends that player's move that turn. Either way, the WA must move first or not at all. I prefer the first one.

We taunt each other about it, but that's it. We don't let it affect game play.

illegal procedures
I actually hate the rule
In my league there will be no illegal procedure calls. Everybody agrees that forgetting your turn marker and having to use an ever so expensive reroll to be allowed to play has nothing really to do with the purpose of the game, using tactics to win a game.
I played a guy once in the beginning. He called illegal procedures all the time. Yep, I'm getting rusty so I often forget de
thing. So I did nothing (not even use a reroll and made it a turn over every time. After the match I asked him if he had a nice game. Nope he said and ever since we stopped using the illegal procedure rule. Sometimes we even have to count back our turns because we all start forgetting now!
Maybe were just getting old
But for us this works the best. No fanatism and enjoy the game.
