well i think you may be using different definitions of "fair"...such a tough concept to nail down anyway.
a decent market price might be about $120ish. that's what the guy could expect to hope to get give or take. so in a sense that's fair.
if you figure the cost of the figs plus an hourly "paint wage" that would be another price, which could be constituted as "fair". of course coming up with a "fair" price for someone's time painting is very much a subjective element and hard to nail down in and of itself.
for me fair is whatever ebay says it is. if the guy was willing to sell it for that, and the buyer was willing to pay that for it, then it's fair for them.
