The sharp point would be better.

Bretonnian Team List:
0-6 Blitzers (Knights) 80k, 6339, Block, Dauntless, SBTDWMT(H), GS
0-6 Linemen (Squires) 60k, 6338, Wrestle, SBTDWMT(SMM), G
0-16 Peasents 40k, 6336, SBTDWMT(BBWITF), G
Rerolls 70k
Big Guy - none whatsoever.
New skill:
SBTDWMT - Something Better To Do With My Time - although this player is contracted to the team, it just seems that every time the team sets off for a match (home or away), the player misses the team coach, for whatever reason (see blow):
(H) Hunting
(SMM) Serving My Master
(BBWITF) Back Breaking Work In The Fields
If this team became the official Bret roster, then I'd withdrawl all my objections to it.

I looked at the results but it doesn't seem so spectacularly high, if I'm interpreting it right. Were fouling cas counted in cas + and - ? What does the fouls column stand for? Fouling cas or fouls attempted?
We counted Fouls that broke armour towards general bragging rights and one of the tie-breakers. Casualties only counts on-field casualties, not caused by fouls or crowd-surfs. Injuries inflicted by crowd surfing weren't counted at all (and my Norse team, maxed out on its Frenzy players, caused more surfing injuries than the mere 6 casualties we inflicted on the pitch!)
I didn't claim the casualty rates were spectacularly high, but just noting that the bashy teams didn't seem to be suffer from casualties being allegedly harder to cause. Nor was fouling hard, if you look at the Orc team that wracked up 9 over the 4 rounds of play.
Also note that this was a Grand Minors Tournament, with 7s rosters and only 6 turns per half. Casualties and fouls would have been higher with more players and more turns.
I think we'll need more actual stats on hand before judging if casualties and fouls are harder to cause in LRB5 reset tourneys.
Cheers,
Maureen

Ah, now this has been a discussion point amoungst blackshirts. You are correct, the lizardman roster has not changed really. I agree.
BUT - other rosters have and the skills/traits changes have too and who has access to what and we go on and on. The point is that with LRB5 some races have benefited more than others and whilst Lizards havent changed, thier "playability" or "selectability" over other races has changed.
Ergo, more coaches seem to be looking at thier options (me, good example here) and wondering "what shall I take to this tournament then?" and in comparision to other rosters with new rules, new skills, DP changes etc, etc, Lizards just seem to be more appealing for tourneys at 110.
Just an opinion.
Oh - additional point: This is exactly the same thing with Dark Elves. All of a sudden, there are 3 or 4 at a 30 man tourney. You hardly saw a DE team a tourney here in the UK save for Embreeeze and RichredUK..... checking the NAF stats the number of DE's and Lizards at tourneys has increased.
Interesting. Maybe I'll have to give them one last run out under to LRB5 to see if the experience is different. My hunch is that these new coaches will come to the same conclusion as I did. Skinks go squish too often meaning you rarely start the second half with 11 players, and the team needs more Block, Tackle and Guard than it can get in 6 games. I'm sure they'll have fun trying though, which I guess is what BB is all about!

I didn't think they were allegedly harder to cause? I thought LRB5 was meant to be more bloody?

Not in the short run it isn't. You have to set up players with combinations of Mighty Blow, Piling On and Claw (if you have access) to make it more bloody. Tournaments don't tend to see players like that as all three skills don't appear on starting players.
I think the change to D. Player and fouling does have the potential to soften the bloodiness at tournaments. Which of course changes every team, even those who didn't get roster overhauls.
Still, you don't need to actually cause CAS's to bash opponents out of the game. KO's and Crowd Pushes are acceptable substitues.

With the way the dice went for me at my last tournament, I'd be happy with some stuns.

I was responding to:
TuernRedvenom wrote:Since you need skill combos for this (which isn't allowed in most tourneys) in LRB 5 resurrection tourneys agility teams have gotten a boost because causing casualties has gotten harder for the bashers.
Of course everybody's mileage will vary by region, depending on prevailing tournament rules. Here in Northeastern North America, it was been pretty common for the last few years under LRB 4 to limit DP to -1/-1; and because Claws were so powerful, they've been limited to 1/team.
Since Claws were softened in LRB 5, I didn't limit them at this year's ArisiaBowl. If anything, claw violence may go up due to easier access on the local tourney circuit.
