In the leagues I've played its normal to say any die that roll off the table have to be re-rolled. But a cocked die we usually ask the opponent if it will count otherwise it is re-rolled. If a player argues the toss more than once he finds no-one will play him for a while, they soon get the message!

In our legue no one accepts dice on the floor, but we each ahve a different convention for what counts a "cocked" and wether it's all rerolled or just the cocked one(s). Since we only have 6 people and play with good cheer, as long as we're all consistent, we're all happy :D .

If you have a reasonably wide squat jar with a lid, you can put dice in it and shake, then put it lid down. It works well to keep dice under control

So noisy, but if you do, use a box as well to throw the dice in.

(They'll probably end up throwing the box of the table as well!) :smoking:
Noisy? Not really, there is no need to hammer the cup down on the table, although I know some players who believe in "force=luck" and make the minis jump a few centimeters. If you have a few sheets of paper (e.g. your roster and rules copy) to roll/shake the dice on, it's pretty silent.
And another thing: it prevents that "flat" rolling I saw many players doing. They just throw the dice from their wrist and just let them skid and slide a few inches. For me this is close to cheating.

Well it doesn't matter if the dice is leaning up against something, say a mini. You can always see which side of the dice which is laying upwards, wouldn't you agree?

And the floor thing: reroll the dices which ends up on the floor, and don't make it piss you off!? it doesn't matter, it's just a game and it should just be funny to play

Not always. Its better to have a clearly defined rule saying they have to be flat because then you don't get into an argument (or ill feeling) because the dice is slightly cocked.

But if all players agrees, that when the dice is cocked or slightly cocked, you take the side which is laying upwards it works...

And don't tell me that often in your league the dices end up laying so that there's no chance at all to see which side is laying upwards...?

You could even accept dice on the floor if both players agree that ALL dice on the floor are accepted and none are touched until both players have the chance to look and see what they are. (You don't always have to look, just be given the chance...)

Right! But the (tourny) reality is that you agree on rerolling both dice or only the cocked one if this happens, whatever, and then your opponent makes an armor roll and gets one slightly cocked dice. If the other one is a 1, he will try to rr both, if it is a 6, he will try to rr only the cocked one! :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

Hey, this happenend to me with three different opponents at two different tournys. I told them to stick to their announced way of rolling the dice, but I am sure that was like calling an IP.

Why can't you use a shaking cup???

I won some impressive titles in 198X, some more in 199X, even more impressive titles in 200X, some of them REALLY impressive, and a few even MORE impressive! Not to mention a lot of less impressive ones.

Don't need a shaking cup, I ain't that clumsy

We reroll all dice that are not flat on the table. I need to think about rerolling both dice if one was not good. ...

Because they are the devil's work. Unless you've started putting some foam padding inside...

I've always played that you only ever reroll the individual dice that were cocked, but so long as my opponent is consistent I don't have a problem.
