I figured that would be the answer and it makes a fair amount of sense, but who do you use to bring down that blodging ball carrier that you're bound to play somewhere in the tournament? Or do you just play the numbers and deal with that annoyance when it happens?babass wrote:frenzy bring more as tackle.
it has more impact on the way of playing of the opponent
will be usefull against all roster (and not only dodging...)

Success against a blodge with tackle (2 dices block):
Success (ie pow) without team reroll : 48.38 %
(more hard to evaluate quickly with team RR...)
So without team RR:
against a blodger: 55,6% with tackle vs 48,4% with frenzy (but with a little more risk of turnover here)
against a onlyblock: 55,6% vs 74,0% with frenzy (but with a little more risk of turnover here)...
- tacle with be used useless against many roster
- frenzy would be usefull against all roster
both have pro and con...

Yeah...see. It's those maths that make my brain go coo-coo-bananas. I suspect that if I ever sat down and looked at them long enough I'd probably get significantly better at this game.
Anyway, I've made up my mind. Thanks to everyone for their input.

Just stumbled upon this thread...
What did you end up taking to the Chaos Cup, burgun? And how useful was your skill choice in your opinion?
I am looking at kind of the same choices to make and would be grateful to receive some wisdom.

Re: Chaos Cup 2014 - Orcs
Bear in mind that my coaching is average at best. I ended up 2-4-0 on the tournament. However, all of my matches were only decided by 1 TD (if I remember correctly). I gave a dicing, took a dicing, and the other 4 matches could have gone either way.
I was very happy with the skill choices. The block troll and two block BOBs were a big help up front and I controlled the LOS in most games. The frenzy blitzer drew a lot of attention and kept folks honest on the sidelines. The biggest help was the sure hands blitzer. Not having to take the thrower was incredibly useful in my opinion.
The goblins weren't very useful, but they weren't a hindrance either. Only having 2 re-rolls was the toughest part of the match. You need to be careful with those.
Thanks for the interest.

Thanks for answering! Just a day late
I decided to take a more conservative roster (IMO) to the Dungeonbowl. I took a Troll, four Blitzer, four BOBs, a Thrower, a Lino and a Goblin. For skills I went with a Block Troll, two Block BOBs, two Guard BOBs and a Tackle Blitzer. The Dungeonbowl being my first regular tournament I consider myself an unexperienced coach. BUT I did alright: W2-D1-L3.
I do find the Frenzy option for a Blitzer quite intriguing though and will consider that for the future.
