TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
By popular demand: What do we do with the bases?
Base rings + numbering must still be done by contributors.

Re: TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
I'll admit, I'm torn.
There are two things that I think would be good. Firstly, to have a complete and completely completed team on November 16th (with bases) and secondly to have unified bases.
I would vote for individuals to base their own models if we could work out a way to match. Like a precise colour scheme. Alternatively I would prefer for the winner to base them.

Re: TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
Well, all the previous Legacy Teams, if I'm not mistaken, had every contributor doing it's own base with some guidelines.
I mean, we all know it needs a grassy base, a base ring and, a number and your TBB nickname on it.
To me, I don't care if the bases aren't all the same or using static grass #2765 from XYZ company. IMHO, this is the goal of a Legacy Team: to have a plurality of minis, not a unified bunch.
But we'll see how the voting goes!

Re: TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
I voted for static grass. Three resons:
It's easy enough for everyone to do, Green base with some Flock on.
It looks nice and clean without attracting too much attention away from the Mini itself
I would like the person who wins the team to get a finished article, not something they have to touch up. I dont like the idea of sending a gift to someone half finished.
I'll go with the majority vote but those are my thoughts.

Re: TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
Contributor bases his mini as he wishes
I voted this way also. Just static grass on a base looks like crap, in my opinion of course, and how rude to make the winner do all the bases

Re: TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
Well, I voted that everyone bases the mini with static grass...
But I thought it was already given that each contributor should base their mini as well as paint it and that the question was about whether the base should be painted green in a 'unified style' or if they should be painted with base rings? This poll doesn't give any answer to that.

Re: TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
I think the best bet is for everyone to send a completed model.
I'd like everyone to agree on a shade, and highlight for the base. Probably GW paints, as these are the most common. How about scorched brown, with bestial highlights + some static grass. I don't think bases covered in grass look great.

Re: TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
Hopefully if the majority are for completed models of whichever kind, even if the "winner basing" option actually wins, contributors should base them. Hope that makes sense!

Re: TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
Then I misunderstood what people wanted. For sure, in my opinion, base ring, numbers and TFF nick should be there, whatever option wins this poll.duckwing wrote:Well, I voted that everyone bases the mini with static grass...

EDIT: And I'm sure people did not mean to put static grass right on the base? Won't there be some sand or something to put the grass on it? Just my way of doing things, I guess.

Re: TFF 2011 Legacy Team: Base Poll
Well, -I- don't know
I've always just painted the base in a nice dirt colour and then put grass directly on the base. I think that looks quite good.

I usually put some "earth", than static grass, but I guess a dark brown base + grass must look good too.duckwing wrote:Well, -I- don't know
