Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
Just thought I'd post up about our league stationed near Philadelphia PA if anyone in that area is interested in joining us for our season 2 email me at the link provide in my profile.
Just thought I'd advertise our league and our website a bit (I coded the entire thing )
"Remember this week new rules are put into effect. Mainly if the ball is knocked into your players hands by a block and he misses it, your turn does in fact end. "
That's a very curious house rule. What's the thinking behind it?

Two of us run the league, we noticed people taking advantage of the ruling of the free attempt. We didn't like what we saw and thus far its only come up once since the ruling. It makes in my opinion for a better strategic game instead of just pile your people around the guy with the ball hit him and have nothing to lose. May change, never know, this is our first running season, we go by mostly the streamline rules but some we just don't like.
Hmmm..it's far less strategic IMO, a lot more rests on the vagaries of the bounce and the catch attempt. And what if the ball scatters to a player on the non-moving team? Presumably they still get a 'free attempt'? Coupled with the more careful positioning of assists (and less options of where you place the ball carrier prone ), the dubious nature of following up on a blitz/block on the ball carrier I'd say it adds up to a significant swing in favour of the team in possession.
Interesting though...

Valid points and definately something I'll bring up with the other commish. One of the many rules that will get reviewed before we start our season 2. As I said, this was the first league for all of us and really kind of an experiment.
