Forge Breakers 'Back to School Bash' - 20th September - Chippenham, Wiltshire

Post by BanjoUnchained »

Join us for the Forge Breakers 3rd NAF tournament. This time themed around going back to school at the exclusive Gringe Hall School for gifted (rich) Goblins.

The new PE Teacher Grigwall Filthpuncher, a grizzled old Orc, thinks these namby-pamby Goblin kids need toughening up. He's invited Blood Bowl teams from all over the land to participate in a lucrative tournament on the condition that each team takes a student into their match-day squad.

The student player will be a Goblin 'Ooligan with all the usual stats. All coaches will receive a free painted miniature (as usual) to represent their Goblin student.

What to Expect
  • A welcoming and competitive 3-game NAF-approved Blood Bowl tournament in a Goblin comprehensive school.
Fully painted 'Ooligan player for each team.
  • Themed spot prizes!
  • Full table service provided by the fab Bargammons staff... who will probably cosplay in school uniforms.
  • Generous swag bags for all attendees and awards for the top teams.
  • Part of the South West Tournament Series.
When: Saturday 20th September 2025

Location: Bargammons Tavern Board Game Cafe, Kings Head House, 35 Market Place, Chippenham. SN15 3HT.

The Tavern has a fully licensed bar, and the entire premises will be available to tournament attendees only. Mel and the team will provide a full at-table drinks service throughout the day.

Size: 40 players

Pricing (tickets and lunch options)

£20 for NAF members. If you're not a NAF member, please sign up with the NAF first.

£6.50- £7.40 supplement if you wish to pre-order a burger from Boston Burger (an excellent local Burger restaurant). The 3 options available for pre-order are listed below, and their full menu can be viewed here- https://www.bostonburger.co.uk
  • The Boston Classic (£6.50) – 6oz Beef, Cheddar, Salad, Mayo, Brioche Bun.

We will accept ticket refunds up to 6th September.

Special event rule ('Goblin Student')

As per Mr. Filthpuncher's instructions, the Goblin students will take the field on opposing sides. Each coach will receive a Goblin 'Ooligan for free in addition to their rostered team. Coaches cannot add skills to their students! They've had no time to train with the team :)

Each coach will be given a free, fully painted miniature to represent the Goglin students.

Trophies
Trophies will be awarded to:
  • 1st place, best stunty & wooden spoon trophies.
  • Best painted team award.
Swag
Attendees to our previous tournament will appreciate how we work hard to offer great swag to everyone who attends. For Back to School Bash we're still finalising our swag. Further details will be shared once confirmed.

T-Shirts
Bargammons offer an 'on the day' custom, event-specific T-shirt printing offer... in other words, Mellie and the lovely Bargammons folk will print you an event-specific T-shirt with your NAF details on it! Order will be placed upon arrival and T-shirts printed during the day! Costs for this will be confirmed closer to the time.

Spot prizes
The final list of spot prizes is TBC, but we'll adopt the same approach as our previous tournaments and offer either a boozy short or some form of savory snack.
