Tabletop league evidence
I had this suggested to me and I think it worthwhile
I will say that if this thread degenerates I may choose to prune it a bit but for the sake of argument let's try to do this
Please post details of
Your tabletop league
Name:
Location:
Number of seasons played:
Do teams continue for multiple seasons:
Average number of players per season:
Majority Bias (Bash/Dash):
Number of teams with a clawpomb player:
Win ratio by teams with clawpomb players:
And not a statistic but league consensus of over-powered / balanced:
This is not about online leagues, plain and simple
Thankyou

Re: Tabletop league evidence
Essex Bloodbowl
Basildon, Essex
Entering season 4. Average season 13 games
Teams can continue for multiple seasons
Average number of coaches 13
Bias tends to flip flop between dash and bash, most recently Bash
None (Claw MightyBlow teams 2-3)
N/A (Season 1 - 40%; Season 2 - 57-80%; Season 3 - 73%)
League consensus - fairly decent balance between Bash/Dash so Claw Mighty Blow not a big effect
Win % in Season 2-3 more through decent coaches using Chaos/Chaos Dwarf teams
No claw team has yet won the league

Re: Tabletop league evidence
Name: Thunderbowl
Location: Metro Vancouver
Number of seasons played: 10 years (20 seasons) in our current format, but another 10 years of a house ruled league that we don't count in our current iteration
Do teams continue for multiple seasons: Yes
Average number of players per season: 36-40 coaches on average
Majority Bias (Bash/Dash): slight Bash but usually 50-50 mix
Number of teams with a clawpomb player: Several too many to sort here
Win ratio by teams with clawpomb players: 3-4 league championship wins, again too much data to sort here
And not a statistic but league consensus of over-powered / balanced: Overall very balanced in our structured schedule

Re: Tabletop league evidence
Name: Munich RumBBL
Location: Munich, Germany
Number of seasons played: "Premier League" Season 6, Rookie Season 2, and a parallel "Open League"
Do teams continue for multiple seasons: Yes
Average number of players per season: 6-10 for the Premier League, more for Rookie, 20+ regularly playing coaches for Open
Majority Bias (Bash/Dash): Mixed
Number of teams with a clawpomb player: Zero! BUT we have a house rule - see below
Win ratio by teams with clawpomb players: n.a.
And not a statistic but league consensus of over-powered / balanced: Probably generally considered OP enough that there was a house rule put in a few years back - Piling On may only be used for the Armor roll, not for the injury roll. There are several teams with Claw+MB, and my Norse Blitzer has MB+PO, but overall the rule has had surprisingly little effect.
("Premiere League" is for advanced teams only, there's a schedule, playoffs, and Super Bowl. Rookie League is for rookie teams only, there's a schedule, playoffs, and Rookie Bowl. Open is just like it sounds, every team not in Premier or Rookie league plays whoever they like, whenever they like)

Re: Tabletop league evidence
Name: Melbourne Blood Bowl League (http://melbourne.bloodbowlleague.com)
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Number of seasons played: 12 (currently playing no. 13)
Do teams continue for multiple seasons: Yes, I think the most experienced team has played 77 matches
Average number of players: We no longer have data on our first few seasons, but the recent average is about 30 players.
Majority Bias (Bash/Dash): Slight edge to Bash, but you haven't defined how teams are classified so it's difficult to say where some teams fit
Number of teams with a clawpomb player: I'll say 83 teams have had access to creating a clawpomb player, how many have done so I'm not going to check.
Win ratio by teams with clawpomb players: Using teams with access to clawpomb: 52%. For comparison: win ratio of AG4 teams: 56.4%
And not a statistic but league consensus of over-powered / balanced: In our league, consensus is hard to come by.

Re: Tabletop league evidence
Name: Liga Yeja
Location: Spain (Barcelona)
Number of seasons played:4
Do teams continue for multiple seasons: No, every season new team (coach are the same)
Average number of players per season: 6
Majority Bias (Bash/Dash): 50%
Number of teams with a clawpomb player: None the first 3 seasons, but this season we're bash teams with Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Nigros, Chaos Pact and Undead, so there will be some.
Win ratio by teams with clawpomb players: No data, the 3 previous winners are rookie Undead (first time we play BB), Dwarf (beating Norses in the Overtime) and Skavens (beating Slann in Overtime) and none of the winners have CPB player.
And not a statistic but league consensus of over-powered / balanced: We're okey. Every body take their team and we have 4 seasons and the league always is competitive and balanced, because we play a Regular season and then Playoff and always is a chance.

And not a statistic but league consensus of over-powered / balanced: This league use CRP+ houserules and was started up paralelly to another 20 season league that uses CRP in our club. I know that some of us who play this league dislike clawpomb and am uncertain of what the rest think.

Name: HDWSBBL (Huntingdon & District Wargames Society Blood Bowl League)
Location: Huntingdon, Cambs, UK
Number of seasons played: 10
Do teams continue for multiple seasons: Yes, we have a cap of 200TV for returning teams.
Average number of players per season: 16
Majority Bias (Bash/Dash): We have always had a good mix of equal style teams so half and half.
Number of teams with a clawpomb player: Only one team who has the combo. A four season Chaos team. However he is yet to win a major championship. Here is his roster, only one player has all three.
http://www.hdwsbbl.co.uk/teams/drakwald ... rs/roster/
Win ratio by teams with clawpomb players: 72% to be exact. We track this stat on all teams.
And not a statistic but league consensus of over-powered / balanced:The balance is good. We have a wide range of coaches with different skill levels, competitive coaches as well as casuals. We normally have different winners of the different Championships we play and everyone has the chance to win sliverware each year. We also have coaches who like to try out different teams and generally the average lifespan of a returning team is around 3-4 seasons before the coach has achieved what they set out to do or boredom ensues.

Re: Tabletop league evidence
Name: The Phoenix Blood Bowl League
Location: Phoenix, AZ USA
Number of seasons played: Been playing since 2004 - average 3 seasons/tournaments per year.
Do teams continue for multiple seasons: They have the option to, but "crush" out some of their players.
Average number of players per season: 14
Majority Bias (Bash/Dash): Relatively even split. Some seasons are more bashy, some are more dashy.
Number of teams with a clawpomb player: This season, none. In history? Maybe 5 or 6.
Win ratio by teams with clawpomb players: Generally low. The exception is if they can carry their team over.
And not a statistic but league consensus of over-powered / balanced: CPOMB is irritating to have to deal with, but it's not broken and it's pretty easily mitigated with Block/Dodge/Fend or any number of positioning tricks. It's not over-powered, it's balanced with the other tools at your disposal.
