So...I rolled doubles on a tackle/MB DE blitzer. The team already has 3 guards, but also plays in a fairly grindy division (remaining games are Chaos, orcs, undead, Chaos dwarves, then maybe orcs, Chaos, undead in the playoffs). As alluded to above, a maximum of seven games left. They'll retire after the season, so no eye toward a final skill.

The team:
The blitzer in question (dodge, sidestep, tackle, mighty blow)
3 blitzers (All dodge, sidestep; 1 has guard)
witch elf (wrestle, MB)
witch elf (block, sidestep, +1 AG, MB, pile-on)
Rookie runner.
6 linemen (1 wrestle/DP, 1 guard, 1 block/guard, rest rookies)

Can never have too much on DEs. Just golden. And it protects against the existing Guard-ers dying or even just missing a game.

Yeah...I figured guard would be the consensus. My guards have taken turns being MNGed over the past three games, so I can definitely see the sense in Joe's last point.

I don't know...I do like PO, but my witch hasn't made much use of it. And at least she has the benefit of Jump-Up. If I was set to face teams with lower AV, I might be more inclined to go that route.

All players die eventually. Guard is more use to the team imo.

PO not so good vs the teams he faces next though. Normally I would say PO without any doubt, but I say Guard here as you will get value from it whereas maybe not from the PO.

Diving tackle on a blodge tackle sidestep blitzer is amazing. I have one and he moves toa ccageaand just sidesteps his way to the ball carrier and they dodging away for 5s most of the time. I get sooo many turnovers this way it's great.
