Blood Bowl Podcasts Poll because I'm curious...
I'm curious how everyone thinks of Blood Bowl podcasts. Being a host of one and a fan of all, I think it's a good time for a little self reflection.
I also think we'd(hosts/creators) also like to hear if we're not hitting things right. Should we be covering something else?
Is there more out there that you'd like to hear about?
I'm sure everyone's open to some helpful critiques and ideas.
Please reply if you have any...

Voted love em all. Been listening to the "main 3" ( no offence intended) for some time, all have different focus, and vastly different presenters so no clash there.....and great that I can listen to them at work.
Just looking at the new ones now, I believe there are 2? one based on the Cyanide league, which I don't play in and one that's going to concentrate on leagues, as a league commissioner I'm interested in that....

I quite like all of them, although I'm a bit behind in listening to them (I don't have the time now I once had). My only real criticism is the long play length. I find it very hard to get through more than an hour in one sitting and you lose track of the overall structure of the thing if you break it up.

Re: Blood Bowl Podcasts Poll because I'm curious...
Hey there,
I voted that I love them all, because I honestly do. I have listened to so many of them over the past few years. I live in Japan and I don't get a lot of table time in. The hobby side of things (collecting, converting and painting models) and the personal interaction (with all the laughs, trash talk, pizza, doritos and soda included) are a big part of the game for me. While I can fiddle with the hobbling all day long on my own, I really miss the new ideas (and laughs) that come from other people who genuinely love the game.
For me, the podcasts are like an addiction. I often look for new downloads weekly. The personalities and skill in the presentations are impressive. I mean, my god, this is done for the love of the game. No pay. No fame. Just pure passion. I respect that and doubt I could put myself out there even half as well, if at all. Incredible efforts that bring me so much fun. I can't say thank you enough.
3DB and Orca-Cola Cast top my favorite list, as they fill my craving for details. I actually re-listen to some of their episodes, some several times, looking for tips and advice… as well as for laughs. Three Die Block's tournament coverage, team building, tips and tricks for tournament playing, skill combos, etc. really keep me listening. Different people's thoughts on similar topics can be pretty cool to hear about. Love when they have a guest giving their personal experiences. Likewise for the Orca-Cola Cast, but for league play. I haven't been in a league for years so I enjoy hearing how they break everything down. The details they go into… pure gold. Keep it up, please.
On a side note, I appreciate that I can listen to both 3DB and OCC casts on open speakers and I don't have to worry about having someone overhear. I would point any new souls toward these shows without fear that they would become offended. I know, being "pc" is a dirty idea to some… but I'm a dad now and a teacher. I wouldn't feel right about sending some of my students to shows that carry an explicit tag. I may just be old fashioned in that view.
Really glad to have Zlurpcast back, even if I need to get on my earphones to enjoy it. Missed the show when it was gone and it holds the #3 spot for me. I don't play Dreadball but I like hearing about their experiences with it and they are making me interested in it more and more. Likewise for the Necromundia-style game, whose name escapes me at the moment. Really like hearing about their tournaments. Always a good listen. I still re-listen to Brian's rant about GW or Jonny's "wrestling show" when I need a laugh.
Both Down take me back to the 2nd ed days in the best ways. The tournament experiences are always great to hear about. The fluff is alive and well here. Good ideas that make me think more than I had before about my own teams' and players' names and stories. Loved the kick-off table rant. More, please.
Pitch Invasion is the newest podcast and I am looking forward to its next show. I liked the complete inducements run through. I enjoy hearing that sort of review when it is matched to specific examples of different teams.
Again, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone involved in the shows, both those "in front of" and "behind" the microphone. If I ever get a chance to meet any of you at a tourney or if you pass through Osaka, the beers are on me. Least I can do.
Cheers,
- Dan

It's true about the swearing - my boys are just getting into BB, and so I could probably listen to them in the car with them and have them be interested, but as it is I have to wait until they're in bed. As a UK coach we're blessed with crazy number of tournaments, so I would be most interested in a "who won which tournaments and in what manner" roundup, as well as a "who is winning in which leagues around the country", because I know lots of the regular tabletop players, but that's probably not very practical. Might be good for a UK podcast though, were one to appear.

Re: Blood Bowl Podcasts Poll because I'm curious...
Dan, thanks for the kind words!
A big part of podcast content is to ask who the intended audience is. For Xtreme and I (I will speak for him because I always do and we are in love), it's first and foremost a show for us. 2nd, it's to appeal to both the guys(and a couple gals) that we see at tournaments every couple months, and others around the world who share the same sense of humour as us. That's it.
I know the language can be tough for mainstream ears, but I'm actually thankful there are other choices out there to have clean version of Blood Bowl talk. Your kids shouldn't learn about Ds & Bs from us, they should learn it the way I did. In some old guy's van in 1986.

I'd listen if I had a commute to work. Otherwise I find it hard to find an hour to listen.

Re: Blood Bowl Podcasts Poll because I'm curious...
I have long wanted to post something like this, a poll of some kind, so thanks to Kilowoggy/ODG for doing so! I also appreciate him resisting the urge to do a "What show do you like the best?" poll. That way lies madness!
I like them all (and TZR as well) because they are so different. I have also appreciated the 'new kids' (OCC and PI) mentioning 3DB, ZC and BD as having blazed the trail, so to speak. We are doing this together, all of us, hosts, producers, listeners, and it really shows.
I do wish another show would step up and do a 'real live' cast of their league/tournament championship game! I want to listen to one that I do not already know the ending of!
We at 3DB do try hard to stay 'clean' but it is tough sometimes. Thank goodness for our producer Craig! We could put together quite the adult-rated blooper reel though...
Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions!

I miss TackleZone too. And the magazine... but I understand, it's hard to keep doing things month after month.
Glad to see for the most part people like what's being done.
Chance, there's no way I'd put up a "Who do you like better" poll. I'm sure Scott's head would explode.
Also, now that Scott and I live together(Nuffle help us all), who knows what madness we might get into.

Re: Blood Bowl Podcasts Poll because I'm curious...
I'm gonna give some honest opinions here.
Since I'm a minion of 3DB I have to say I like that one the most.
They really need to get back on a regular schedule *AHEM* but I generally find I get the most good information from their show.
As I used to listen to my iPod at work with open speakers I had to stay away from Zlurp. Great guys but their podcast was too mature. I'm not their targeted demographic so the humor could be a little bawdy for my tastes but there's definitely some chuckles to be found, and their tourney coverage is the best of the lot.
I like Both Down's hosts but when I'm committing an hour+ I need more than entertainment out of it and sometimes BD can be content-lite. I do like the cast, but if I can only listen to one that day they usually won't be top choice.
Orca and now Pitch Invasion are doing good for newbies and they are really trying to get as much good info in their cast as they can, which I appreciate. I know coaches in both of those online leagues so it's fun hearing blood bowl thru their filters.

I listen to 3DB, OCC and BD, though it tends to be on a "when I get a chance" type of schedule, rather than regularly. I've not tried others as yet, mostly as I don't have time more than the will to do so.

3DB and OCC are my faves. I've listened to every 3DB episode, often more than once. OCC takes the same tactics-focused approach and adds coverage of a league I'm actually involved in, which is a bonus.
Pitch Invasion got off to a promising start too, I hope they can keep it going.

Anyone willing to list these main podcasts and provide links? It's not something I ever listen to, but could be tempted. Can anyone recommend a good bit of software for getting up to date copies on an android phone?
