How does dauntless interact with assists? Specifically, at what point in the relative strength calculation do you work out what the Dauntless player's strength is?
e.g. a Dauntless human catcher is being blocked by a human blitzer with one assist available to the blocker. I am assuming that Dauntless automatically works.
Is it: blocker declares block; Dauntless increases Strength of Catcher from 2 to 3; assist adds +1, for two dice block with blocker choosing result?
Or
Blocker declares block; assister assists; Dauntless increases Catcher's strength to 4, for a one die block?

Ok you can only use dauntless in your own turn when that player is performing the block, if i am correct.
When that player does the block you have to roll 2d6 and beat the opponents strength, if you do then they count as having equal strength. Then you can add in the assits.
Hope thats made things clearer?

LRB 1.3 - page 34 (emphasis added)
The skill only works when the player attempts to block an opponent
who is stronger than himself. When the skill is used the coach
of the Dauntless player rolls two dice and adds them together.
If the total is greater than the opponent’s Strength value, then
the Dauntless player’s Strength is counted as being equal to his
opponent’s when he makes the block, before any bonuses for
skills and defensive or offensive assists are added.

Grumbledook,
In our league we use a skill called Double Dauntless which works exactley as dauntless but it can be used when someone is blocking you. Your opponent has to roll 2D6 and get equal too or less than his own ST to get the 2 dice block.
You have to already have Dauntless to gain Double Dauntless.
