The issue is that in the NAF system, one player can only take one race per tournament. I have come to understand there were was some random Goblin thing going on and these results cannot be entered (unless of course both coaches were using Goblins as the standard race).Joemanji wrote:How can there have been non-NAF coaches? So if you are missing games, chances are they involved Goblins!! Hoomin should be able to clarify that though.

I have similar feelings (although I'm a long way from being in the running for that prize).Grumbledook wrote:why is a tournament with stupid rules to be counted for the UK championship
kind of unbalances things somewhat no?
I think that Rob only intends to increase the crazy thus I think it would be best if AlbaBowl is not a UK championship event next yr (assuming the UK championship is repeated).
Of course, this might not be the best thing for the tournament as I'm sure there were top coaches who made their decision to attend based, at least partly, on this factor.

Is that true? Everybody participating uses the same ruleset. Everybody knows the rules from the start. Everybody could have picked halflings if they fancied their chances.Grumbledook wrote:why is a tournament with stupid rules to be counted for the UK championship

If you want it to be 100% "clean", then all the UK championship tournaments should have the same ruleset.
Just my two cents.

not everyone can get to the same tournaments though (hence the reason to pick enough tournaments that are spread out over the UK)
they can have different rulesets, ie team cost skill progression etc
but when you start throwing in randomly using goblins or putting mutations on wood elves it is taking things to far imo

Random match up was converted from the coaches choice of teams to goblins on both sides (painted in old firm colours).Grumbledook wrote: what exactly were the goblin games rules anyway I appear to have missed them.
