ORCS:
4 Black Orc Blockes
4 Blitzers
1 Thrower
Troll
1 Lineman
1 Goblin
1 reroll
3 fan factor
There's a "sticky" in another section of the board on best starting team rosters, but I'll take a stab at a few problems you might want to consider:
I'm a huge fan of maxing the Blorcs and Blitzers, so no problems there....
Some would say go with the thrower, some say not.... I like having a sure hands player, though in 12 games my Orcs still don't have a reliable passing game.... It takes awhile.... Alternatively, you could nix the thrower and just grind down field....
The troll is a HUGE bone(head) of contention.... He'll go "really stupid" at the worst moments.... On the other hand, he can really kick some can! I love mine, though he really steams me at times....
The lineman is a good, standard, tough character.... Still, I don't really like having one for anything other than a replacement player....
You can have up to 4 goblins and I find one a good addition.... On the positive side, he can readily get into places to lend assists.... He can also be thrown though this is a failure waiting to happen... good for the one-turner if you have no other way to score.... On the negative side, your gobbo is the easiest player to injure... protect him well or use him with abandon... just get ready to be without....
ONE REROLL?! I started my team with two and found myself constantly needing more... one will mean that you can effectively forget correcting any mistakes as soon as one of your players drops a pick up or rolls double skulls or the Troll "stupids" at a crucial time.... Two rerolls minimum... three recommended....
My recommendations: drop the lineman and all FF... get a second reroll and carry 0 FF.... Carry 1 Assisstant Coach and 1 Cheerleader to try and get the occassional reroll from the kickoff chart....
