BB Trophy for Sale

Post by GalakStarscraper »

I've been working on having a block trophy that I could add small name plates to each year with the year, name of the winner, team name and race for each year of the GenCon Bowl.

I think this has potential to work as the top of the wood block that tracks the names. Thoughts? Personally I cannot believe someone outside of GW had the thoughts to create a product so CLEARLY an IP issue.

A legacy trophy would be cool, wither it be this one or another.

You missed their shipping prices ...

1 item: $20
2 items: $28
3 items: $42
4 items: $56

No matter what these guys make out like bandits on shipping. Even emailed them to say while I was getting the item that their shipping was highway robbery. That's said since a 2nd one was only $18 ... I bought a 2nd one.

I'm might keep the first one in tact as a novelty item for my collection. The 2nd one ... I'm going to remove the blade from and glue to the top of the trophy to create a single piece unit. I might consider painting it from there (depending on how good it actually looks). Then mount it on the wood block and have the name plates made for Wolfgang's wins in 2003 and 2004.

Trophy is VERY COOL but my experince with conventions (though not GenCon) is that they frrown upon bringing in "weapons" and such into the convention. Something to double-check with the organizers before the situation arises.

He's carrying it in Ebay store for $16.99 with $10 shipping.

Let me get it in and then I'll let you guys know the scoop on it.

I bought two. And one I intend to remove the knife part from and just use as the trophy part. If I find this conversion pretty easy to do ... I'll let you guys know.

I promise one and all to take pictures of this baby next to some figs and such for scale when I get it and give a full report.

I figure its only a matter of time before GW legal finds these guys and says ... WTF. However, if it is cool and you guys can grab one for under 30 USD ... I think it would be a good deal.

I recieved UPS confirmation last night that the two I order were on their way ... so early next week I'll be able to post pictures and start giving my thoughts on conversions for it.

I could fix that as well. I'd be willing to talk to these guys about more reasonable shipping if I placed a decent sized order and then send them off to you guys overseas if you wanted one. But I really want to see the quality of this thing before I'd do that for anyone.

I'd be interested in getting one or two, if shipping was reduced.

Okay got it in. One I'm really happy ... with the other will need painting by me to look better.

The whole thing is being mass created in China ... how they are getting away with the blatant IP violation you got me ... but this might very well be one of those get them while you can items if you can one.

I hooked up my Dremel with a metal cutting wheel and was able to cut off the metal dagger piece in about 8 minutes ... so no sweat ... if you own a Dremel ... piece of cake to make this thing into just a plain old trophy.

The whole thing is white plaster cast and then painted. However the spikes around the base are hollow and I had a broken one on each trophy from the shipping ... ie they are fragile. I included a pop/soda can in the picture so you can get an idea of size. Hopefully the pictures will give you an idea of what this is.

He is selling these with a WIDE variety of starting bids AND shipping costs (ranging from $10 to $20 for shipping ... so be sure to check).
