Re: Who's been here a decade???
I'm not quite sure how long i've been a member of this forum because it's been that long and I pop in now and again (I mainly read, rather than post).
What I do know is, it was before GW sent you guys a ceist and desist letter about the forum name mentioning Blood Bowl, which even to this day I don't get?
Seriously GW hasn't properly supported Blood Bowl for years (except for the LRB's), then suddenly Cyanide make a game about it and what, GW are now worried that those interested in that video game might start getting into the boardgame/model version and use GW products to glue and paint them? Oh no, the Horror!!
EDIT: Just spotted on the side, 'Joined: Sun Mar 01, 2009 3:07 pm' ...it feels longer, lol!

GW are a$$hats, no doubt, but I've seen IP protection through the bullying use of C&Ds escallate throughout all industry. They may not support it on the grounds it doesn't make any money or bring more 40k/WHFB in to buy all the new models and rule books, but that doesn't mean they don't want some other company making money off of it at their expense.worthy wrote:I'm not quite sure how long i've been a member of this forum because it's been that long and I pop in now and again (I mainly read, rather than post).

If corporate entities have the ability and pay for the inhouse counsel to send "nastygrams" to smaller operatives without the financial wherewithal and ability to call bluff, it's a cheaper alternative than filing suit.
