I spoke with the very lovely Jonathan at EG this afternoon and we can still run the tournament on the 17/18 July, but as you’d imagine we’ll need some changes.

We now have markedly reduced capacity (36), and we can have a max of 6 people per pod. This means that the tourney will run in 6 x groups of 6, and we’ll have 5 games instead of the usual 6.

There’s currently no restriction re: people travelling in from out of area, but that may ofc change in the coming weeks.

This is all fresh information so I’ve not had chance to think about working out the scoring, the new sunday schedule etc but I’ll finalise that soon (along with fixing a couple of errata I’ve spotted in the rulespack eg I need to mention that mercs aren’t allowed)

I have another chat with Jonathan booked in for next week where we will further discuss how to run the tourney most safely.

For now, can you post below and let me know asap if you’re still happy to attend. We’ll take people in the order of payment for the tourney & then any others will form a reserve list.

If you’d like your ticket moving over to next February’s event instead that’s absolutely fine of course.

Tourney is, barring a governmental change of mind, as we know on.

I’m speaking to EG on Thursday re: which precautions will be in place. I’ll update you re: these once they’re finalised.

As we are allowed different pods on day 1 & day 2, the format will be as follows:

The top 3 coaches in each 6 team pod after day 1 will go into a Championship tier on Day 2, the bottom 3 coaches will go into the Chumpionship tier (so, assuming we get 36 coaches that’ll give 18 coaches competing for each title come day 2)

There’ll be 6 games not the 5 I initially thought we’d be limited to.

I’m also trying to get hold of any coaches (& remember which coach names go with which real names ) who’ve not told me yet what they’d like to do so I can work which coaches are able to attend.

Fingers crossed I’ll be able to let people know whether they’re in the 36 v soon. I’ve started updating the list on TFF.

I've been updating the list, and have been able to accommodate almost everyone. I think we have 5 coaches currently on the w/l. I am still waiting to hear from one or two people re: what they would like to do.

I've updated the list and I just need to get confirmation from FatGandalf & The_Fritch that they are happy to play and then the 36 are set.

I spoke with EG today, and they have confirmed that the 6 pods of 6 each day, with streaming into the Champs/Chumps on the Sunday is a goer. I enquired whether the mixing from different households is an issue, and they have said it is not according to what they have been advised.

On the Saturday night, people are welcome to game at the venue but only in the pods that they have been in during the day.

To avoid having people having to come to the admin desk, we will have separate Whatsapp (or Discord, still tb) groups per pod, and fixtures will be sent out via them. Coaches can also submit rules enquires etc that way too.

There will be masks and sanitizer provided. If people can check themselves with lateral flow tests each day before you come in that would be useful too to maximise safety.

I'm still having a think re: prize-giving, but it will be done in a way that avoids the usual (oh so lovely) crowding around the admin area.
