Well, it's something that's happened to all of us and it's been happening for years.
You can't force people to join NAF if they don't want to. Is the alternative to sign coaches up anyway just for the purpose of other people's rankings? That seems more unsatisfactory to me, so I think we just need to accept that games against non-NAF can happen and it's just the luck of the draw.

I agree with kithor. I guess no one will force people to get into the NAF but if they take part in a NAF-tournamant, their games have to count to the ranking. The NAF still need not list the Non-NAF-Members.
