Colin - I am from Alberta so I don't bleed green/white... ;p
But it is certainly Riderville green/white central here.

Re: Who are you? The introductions thread
Hello,
I'm Ron and Blood Bowl's been my favorite game since First Edition... in theory... I hadn't played for years until a few weeks ago when my nephew was visiting and we busted out a game. Before that, I played regularly, but only ever Third Edition, so I've never actually played the LRB rules (although I've followed them all these years--I'm gonna miss my DE throwers).
The most fun I had with the game was a small mixed-race league (First Edition-style) with a rookie draft, free agency, and other homebrewed fun. Now I'm hoping to play a bit on FUMBBL and hit some regional tourneys (sadly, I'll have to miss Chili Bowl in Cincy because of evening commitments).
I'm 46 and I live in Columbus, OH with my wife and little girl.
My questions to you all would be:
1) Does everybody here prefer block dice over pips, or vice versa? I've come across a few threads (not here) recently where folks thought using the special dice was some kind of clunky antiquated design affectation. To me, it's a big part of the game's mystique.
2) What's the desirability/tradability of the GW minis? I've got some extra teams I'd like to trade for some that I'm missing. Am I likely to have any luck? I've got run-of-the-mill 3E stuff mostly; happy to trade for same.
Excited to see so much love for BB still out there!

I have about 50 block dice, I would not want to play without them. I in fact line them up before we start. A clubmate has at least as many and will "retire" any that roll skulls in a match. You tried using ordinary d6 round our way and you would be treated with pity and lent some proper dice for the match.

There's lots of trading selling and buying going on on this forum (and also on e-bay for example). Just post what you want or what you have too much of in the appropriate section of the forum!
Oh, and block dice; love them! They're not a design flaw... they are a solution to make the game more "ergonomic"!

Well, you want dice that require as little interpretation as possible, so pictorials like skulls arrows and pows can be registered immediately - it is not merely an affectation. They are unique tools for Blood Bowl only, every player I've met rolls them.puzzlemonkey wrote: 1) Does everybody here prefer block dice over pips, or vice versa?
