Werewolves with 2 different stat lines (they could have gone with a Bear ... they still sell bear figures)

Page references where the pages are not present.

The Rat Ogre one was my typo ... and damn I really thought I had triple checked all of that ... have no idea how that got through as a typo ... so don't blame GW for that one.

The credits page is gone ... so GW won't even acknowledge the folks that gave up so much time to bring this.

And the idea that folks should play LRB 1.0 because its less cut-throat ... that's lawyer speak for Jervis being told that we don't want to push these rules over the ones printed and in the boxed set (so all you should feel free to go back to LRB 1.0).

A typo...let's hope they fix it. For the rest of the stuff, name changes, etc, hopefully the dreams about another easier on the eye version being released will turn out to be true.

C'mon Galak. Your work was so that we had the best damn ruleset that's ever existed. If they want to print out lousy .pdfs with shitty formatting it doesn't change what you've accomplished.

You think they will ever fix it? Or is it here to stay?

I don't want to mark this change in my nicely printed, full color LRB6.0 if there is a chance it might be corrected in the future.

Edit: Ah too slow.

Regardless of rulebooks etc, at least tournaments will play LRB6 now. That's all that matters to me (even if Rat Ogres stay mispriced).

I already sent an email to the remaining BBRC members begging them to fix three things I've spotted already.

1) The Rat Ogre incorrect price of 160k instead of 150k.

2) The fact that we modified the rules on page 5 that dealt with the range ruler that really needs to be put back. Especially since page 12 and page 22 says see page 5 to understand.

3) We had multiple clarifications on page 3 that are now not shown.

Maybe the "real" version will "accidentally" get created and posted.

Surely all the LRBs have been optional up till now anyway. Someone just buying the box set and using the rules in there isn't likely to know there is updated rules, has anything really changed?

Now I don't know exactly what the deal is with buying the box set as I got it in 1994 though unless someone was to go online for blood bowl, they aren't likely to know to download any of the LRB at any point up to now?

I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one applauding if you took YOUR game back.

Grumble,

It has to do with the change in GW's stance that this now represents.

Yes the boxed set has 1.0 in it and that isn't changing ... yes the newest rulespack is online ... that isn't changing.

But in the past GW always said that the LRB WAS the official rules of Blood Bowl. Now the official GW stance is that LRB 1.0 are the official rules of Blood Bowl. That's new.

Okay ... clarifications ... I'm glad LRB 6.0 saw the light of day. I'm gutted when I consider how many hours I worked on the formatting/new background/scanning images from 2nd edition, etc that is now gone. Those white spaces in this PDF represents hundreds of hours of my time. That's what my comment was for. The time spent making the rules great ... well I'm VERY glad those are now at least published.

Part of my legal requirements from GW was that I'd destroy all copies of the LRB on my computer that GW had not released.

What I'm really struggling with is that Jervis is saying okay these rules are optional .. they aren't the real BB ... those rules are in the boxed set (see LRB 1.0) ... if you are a not a cut-throat player ... play LRB 1.0 (which I'm still trying to figure out as that was the ruleset with Dirty Player at +2/+2 and Chaos Warriors with Piling On and Razor Sharp Claws doing +4/+2) ... how is that the non-cut throat version.

That was also the version that had Aging and the D66 Handicap even table ... UGH ... how is that the more relaxed fun version (congrats your are outmatched for this game and because you suck at rolling at D66 you get no help ... should have rolled bigger numbers) ... and so you just got pounded on for 2 hours ... no problem at least your Wardancer got a skill ... oh you rolled double 1s ... sorry your 6 SPP Wardancer rolled +1 AG for his skill but just lost a point of Strength. Yeah isn't getting a skill is fun.

But what is completely throwing me for a loop is this ... for the last 8 years GW has taken the stance that the LRB is official. Cyanide was told to use the LRB ... they cast up Necromantic, Vampire, Amazon, Lizardmen, Elf, Norse, Khemri, Ogre and Nurgle teams (all of which were added to the LRB after 1.0) and they have not removed those teams from the store.

So what is its status ... completely optional but please don't take that too much to heart players as you won't buy these 9 of the 21 teams anymore from our store?

I'm very confused. I understand why GW legal told JJ he had to say the header info for this document ... but I just don't see how it matches the store. I also don't see how JJ can think anyone would actually buy that LRB 6.0 is only preferred by cut-throat players over LRB 1.0. BoardGameGeek if you compared 3rd edition (which LRB 1.0 was very similar to) to the LRB Blood Bowl ... LRB Blood Bowl is clearly favoured.

I will say it again ... I'm VERY glad LRB 6.0 is posted ... just concerned that it comes with an immediate dismissal to the community at the same time.

I've got this sick feeling in my stomach as I read this thread. I know Tom must also have a similar feeling, though multiplied exponentially.

I may be done with blood bowl now, even though I love what it was becoming. And to think I put money into 8+ different teams. I guess I'm back to painting my 6mm armies for a while until this settles out and I like the out come.

If this sounds like sour grapes, its because it is. I had high hopes this version of the game would take off and it would resurface bright and shiney to attract new players.

I'm glad we've been enjoying our dungeon version of Elfball. Thats probably the direction we'll go in from here on unless I see some major changes in GW.

They don't sell Tomb Guardians either.
Where are Dark Elf Runners at? Looks like Throwers in the team pack to me. Unless, what did Dark Elves have in LRB 1? Maybe the teams are standard again. Looks like we stick with LRB 5+ for now. Be careful what you wish for, maybe?

Why exactly is this GW Legal causing this? What legal reason is there for updated rules freely available to be removed because of an old printed rulebook? I'd think legal had nothing to do with this. The Cyanide game being my reasoning for this. I can't get to the page from work, but I remember reading a quote about the real-time mode, and that it had to strictly adhere to LRB5. It will be rather amusing if they opened up a can of worms with Cyanide about the rules being considered unofficial. But if legal was behind it, I'm quite sure they already considered that.

I haven't actually looked at the new "improved" LRB6 yet, but if it is as bad as I say it is, I can understand your apparent anger Galak.
