Stone Bowl Update

Hi all,

Just a quick message about the upcoming Stone Bowl event. Much of this is influenced from conversations elsewhere - but not really looking for a discussion, just want to offer some clarity in these strange times.

Corona virus

As things change daily I’ll be keeping an eye on official advice, but as things stand the event is going ahead. I will, however, be making the following request of everyone.

- pre match sequences. No pre match hand shake. Don’t worry about it, don’t be offended, and don’t assume someone is ill. Let’s just not bother.

- Moving miniatures. Only touch your own miniatures, this includes when miniatures are knocked over, indicate where you would like the mini to go and your opponent will put it there.

- Dice. Just use your own dice.

- Hygene. I will bring some hand sanitizer for the toilet. Please use it.

- Food. The usual buffet will NOT be available. I will supply hot food, 1 meat and 1 vegan, (though I will 100% confirm this next week, just need to check a couple of elements) which can be served in bowls. I will also supply bread and individually wrapped snacks such as crisps.

- illness. If you’ve been ill during the week up to the event please make the judgement call for yourself as to whether or not you should be in a confined space with fellow nerds.
If you aren’t sure ask me or check the NHS guidelines.

Any questions let me know, but hopefully this offers some level of reassurance and awareness.

Sadly due to the global pandemic this years event is cancelled

I've invested most of the ticket money in venue, prizes and cards, so i'm going to hold on to your places. That means everyone is already in for the new date of 27th March 2021. Closer to the time I will check in with everyone that has already got a ticket and then chop and change as necessary.

Update regarding 2021:
I've taken the decision to cancel the rearranged event for March 27th 2021. I just don't see how it would be possible or responsible to run an event in March in the current climate so I've made the call now and rebooked the event for the following year. Stone Bowl 3 is now on March 26th 2022.

I realise this is getting tricky now as a lot of time has passed between the original event and the current plan, so if you are in need of a £15 refund please let me know. If you don't need the refund then consider yourself booked in for next years event. (As a side note I have just secured a refund from the venue which is great, but due to the time between the original cancelation last year and the event much of the ticket money is already invested in prizes, cards, etc.)

More information to follow about the future of the event. I have provisionally booked the same venue, but I may look at moving to an alternate, but we've plenty of time to look into that, 14 months in fact.
