He got the information from an announcement on the top of our website ... how is that sneaky. Sigh.

Well to be fair I did describe it as a "stealthy" release, because while it was on your website along with the comixino stuff I don't believe it was part of the TFF, Ausbowl or TGN announcements for the month. And the description of the OOP version was quietly changed of course... I actually took the time to search out Norse's original post on your forum to see if that had changed too (it hadn't).

It's not like you guys went out of your way to let people know about this, in the same way you do when you release other stuff, that's all.

After reading the discussions about it and having time to think, I've pretty much settled on not being thrilled with it, but if it's going to keep Impact going then I don't really have a problem. They are awesome figures after all, and I really can't begrudge others getting to own and enjoy them.

There are also 8 new figures on our website right now I haven't even gotten around to announcing on the front page of the site let alone TFF ... are those products I'm trying to sneak out??? ??? ???

At some point ... its just a matter of hours of the day and what I have time to get done .... not stealth.

Tom, I'm really sorry to hear the further explanation (though I guessed this might be the case) and like many people I hope things turn around for you soon.

Sadly I know several people who have tried to make a go of full time minis companies, but none who were able to do so long term. I know the corporate world isn't attractive, but it does pay the bills :-?

I have always had a love/hate relationship with limited figures. I am personally glad Impact will no longer be making them. I have two sets of the original weather goblins and don't mind that they have been slightly changed and made available for general purchase. As was stated by someone else, I buy the figures mostly because I like them, not because I plan on making money on them. The collectable field is always volitale. What is hot one day is worthless the next. Just a couple of examples: Pogs and Beanie Babies.

I hope this will help keep Impact around. I like the owners, the product and what they have done for the community.

It might happen ... but I'm determined to not allow it without one heck of a fight.

I think making the new gobbo available individually would be a nice gesture. As it stands, anybody with the original set has to purchase a complete other set in order to have all 6. If I had the original set, I'd want that option as a collector.

The new Gobbo in the set has been for sale for about 2 years as we didn't want someone to have to buy the whole set again to get the new Goblin.

Of course, after having 2 great Lmt ed figs done for the ARBBL (plus a "was Limited, but ended up being main range (WITH OUR BLESSING), I for one am said to see the removal of that offer from Impact.

BUT....

I'd be sadder still to see the removal of Impact, so although the (semi-pro) collector in me feels a little disappointed, I can understand it, and my wish to see Impact flourish outweighs my personal disappointment.

On a more positive note, at least two of my club-mates will be very pleased to see them return.

Wanted the set but was too late (my own fault).
So I am gald they are back.

I do like limited edition minis, dont get me wrong. And I do understand the dissapointment. But I am glad these are back in stock. In fact, if Draco has them I'll buy them from him. If not, he should order them ASAP :).

I just ordered a set of the new Weather Goblins before I saw this thread. As someone new to Blood Bowl, I'm very happy to get a set of the new Goblins. I've bought quite a few figures that were "limited release" figs over the past year. While I understand why some collectors would be upset at part of this set being re-released, please realize there's a market full of us newer folks that are thrilled to see stuff like this being released...

If Blood Bowl and by extension the Blood Bowl "aftermarket community" is going to grow and survive then occasionally you'll have to cater some of this stuff to us newer folks so we can have cool goodies too! :)
